I actually have the AMEX Delta Sky Miles Platinum card, What is the Delta Blue? Are there any Youtube videos that explains the perks and access? I get the Companion cert every year

Edit, on YTube now

yes, but when you said you have the same lineup...I though you meant you have the Delta Platinum and the Platinum charge. so you only have Delta Platinum? ok, if this is the case and you travel...downgrade the Delta Platinum to the Delta Blue (basic card with no AF) and get the Amex Platinum charge card. Delta Platinum isnt that good....Delta Reserve is better, but still not as good as AMEX Platinum. get an AMEX Platinum and pair it with Gold if you can and if you need a co-branded card, just get one with no AF or like I said, Delta Gold because the bennies pay for the AF after one round-trip ticket for just one person.

i have it, but i wouldnt put big apple purchases on 24 month plan. i have a 10k limit, buying a computer (that i would need for the work i do) would put me over 20 percent utilization. i dont ever let me utilzation exceed 5% on any card to maintain my credit score.

but just to be clear to newbies...you dont need to maintain a certain credit score. you only need it when you need it. not necessary to maintain it on a monthly basis. you only need good credit when you need it. so if you put a big charge on 24 month plan you can just rock with that and then pay it down/off if you feel like you are going to make a move. like me, I dont really give a fukk about a credit score unless I need a new loan for a mortgage or a vehicle...or if I happen to want a new credit card...which I am not pressed about. I also use business credit which is separate from personal so if I really need a card that bad I just get a business card. I think Apple gives you the 3% whether you use financing or not correct?

I've had the platinum Amex card for about 10 years now...they so desperate for customers that they are waving the fee easy with just a phone call. It used to be a exclusive type of card. I would go in strip clubs and get Hella attention like I was some kina balla...now I see everybody got one

Had one bytch tell my partner that she was my bartender and she wouldn't get him a drink unless I said so:russ:

I got 240000 points btw

I have Amex Gold and Chase Sapphire Reserve. Is Amex Platinum an upgrade over either one of these?
I would hang tight to CSR right now. Amex jumped out the window upping their annual fee so Chase has been adding things but slowly. My guess is to see what they can offer of value from what Alex does to piss people off with their fees.

I’m an airline snob so I try to fly Delta only anyway if possible. Remember Chase does the 5/24 rule also.

I am what they call gardening right now. Meaning I’m not applying for anything. I just bought a house so I got plenty of use to keep me busy on the ones I have. I probably won’t add anymore until 2022.

Exactly. I’ve watched a few others but he’s very thorough. So I don’t even bother now.

Got one it’s cool. 1% cash back on everything and 2% when you use Apple Pay. I believe 3% on Apple stuff.

Apple lets you use it for monthly payments on their products too. So you can buy a Mac and pay for it over time on a Apple Card.

Edit: Forgot to add the cash back is daily, instead of your monthly statement.
Thanks. I needed that info. I’m starting a business so I need a desktop. I may check this out.

this strategy will hurt them as FICO 10 scoring model adoption increases. They changed the algorithm to average your ballances of the prior 24 months so that run up a ballance and pay it off before you apply for somthing is going to get people declined.

its best to be discepline and pay these cards off every month because they already figured out how to fukk you.

the wise keep it at 5 percent. 10 percent is MAX. anywhere near 20 you leavin major points on the table and i know that from experiance.

When the experian app tells you to keep it at 30% thats to have "good" credit, not exceptional. You want to stay with that 760 or better for the best oportunities. a 720 aint what im here for. dgaf about 800 but 759 is a probelm for me

No reason to carry balances unless you are on a 0% plan...you automatically lose any benefit of having rewards cards otherwise...

I remember back in the day when i was a child, the Diners club was Super elite , i wonder what happened to that card

Diners club And amex was elite baller status back then

they went away but emblem stayed on Discover cards. BMO Harris Bank brought them back. They gave me a card 7 years ago with a 10k limit. it just fell out of my rotation in favor of better cards.

:patrice: Reading this thread got me thinking about getting that Amex Gold. Seems like a good compromise cause I know I wouldn’t take advantage of the platinum benefits, but at the same time I do want to start traveling a little.

4 points on purchases at supermarkets up to $25,000 a year and I stay in Publix.
