If you are spending more than $3500 a year in groceries (excluding Walmart) then it's worth it to upgrade to the preferred, I think 3500 is the breakeven when you consider the annual fee, but the problem is if you are using the rotating category cards, then you will do better in cash back and still pay no fees. You could use your AMEX Everyday card, then mix in the Discover It, Chase Freedom and now the with the Citi Custom Cash all giving 5%, no reason to really get the AMEX preferred.I'm only rocking a Broke Boi Blue ( BBB)
I have a everyday blue, they said I can upgrade to a cash preferred joint below ....I don't travel or use CC that much so got about $140 cash points on the everyday blue
That looks like it’s geared towards Vegas, which there’s nothing wrong with that. Me and the wife prefer to go international rather than hit Vegas and now that the babies are starting to get old enough to be with their grandma for days at a time we def ain’t staying domestic

It would've been FAR too easy to get to that $3500 if AMEX was accepted at Costco.
You would be surprised how much you spend on food excluding Costco, especially if you have a family.See that's how they fukk you. They exclude like Walmart and even Costco (when it was accepted there).
