Life is absurd. Lean into it.
Physical media been going the way of the dodo for 10 years. Not going to pretend I'm some kind of purist, but I still keep favorites, rare and important media. I have a sick record collection.
Most streaming services do not provide the highest quality picture. So visual and audiophiles 100% still buy discPeople still buying disks....for movies/tv shows?
Only physical media I buy are video games
This for sure. Been snatching up my favorites movies/tv shows. Don’t find as many of my favorite CDs there but did recently get a sealed copy of Tribe’s first album. The Goodwill is one of the best places to find good cds/dvds lowkey. I found a sealed copy of Atliens in a goodwill and I’m still surprised
same,Physical media is dead in my house. I don’t have any devices with a disc drive.
yep.Man yall better buy up every dvd and blu ray you can find. With digital media especially streaming you do not control how long you can access your favorite movies they can switch off your service and demand a monthly charge for a movie you already supposedly own digitally. Plus the pay per stream movies lack all the special extras and bonus footage from some of the DVD/Blu Ray releases. On top of that they can change the version of the movie they stream to you at will they can censor "controversial" scenes or remove the film you like from their platform.
Anybody that holds on to a large dvd/bluray collection will eat like a king when all those physical copies become rare. Limited edition dvd and bluray prices will skyrocket. get your ebay account ready.
You seem slow so I’ll entertain you this morningWhat's this mean, just as a customer who doesn't even buy dvd's this is kinda disappointing
I gave away 120 dvds last year to goodwill. Some good shyt too. Didn't have space in my condo. Been on my minimalist shyt; getting rid of stuff I don't use...for years. The Goodwill is one of the best places to find good cds/dvds lowkey. Streaming services have destroyed music and art
I feel horrible for a generation that will never know what it felt like when your favorite artist dropped their album on Tuesday, getting to a store and buying your favorite artist work for support, getting in the car ripping the plastic off the disc, listening to an entire album of work for the next hour or so, then getting home and reading the booklet from the cd case.
Those 14-18 tracks was a creative journey designed to allow the consumer to connect to the artist personally.
Now music is just move from single to single and the most you will connect with an artist is the weirdo clout chasing bs they post on social media. Streaming has just killed feelings of anticipation for a artist to drop.
I'm hoping somehow we turn this around. Where talent means something, a body of work we can judge from 1 to 5 mics, a catalog we can access etc. Truth is, nobody even loves music anymore
I got burned cds from 2002 that play perfectly fine. Plus it's nothing to make a copy of them for backup purposes. What about disc rot?
Thats what piracy is for, I'm not gonna fill my house with disks I'm never gonna watch, if I wanna watch something that is not in the services I have I just download it.Man yall better buy up every dvd and blu ray you can find.
