those comedy movie blu rays/dvds with blooper reels behind the scenes are out the window if they are clowning certain groups like lgbt jokes and other "protected" groups good luck finding your favorite controversial comic's stand up on the streaming services once movies go all digital.

I fought the digital purchase wave until I saw the same game that was on Steam for $20 was still 49.99 in the store. No, bytch ass GameStop wasn't price matching. That and not having to store cases anymore brought me around.

i dunno i kinda enjoy having any song i want a couple clicks away as opposed to having to spend 20 dollars on a disc, or just turning on the radio and hoping for the best, all so if the music gods happen to favor u that day u might catch the radio edit u were hoping for from the very beginning. :blessed:

Of course, if u still want a physical copy u could always bootleg that shyt.

Same with movies and games. Just burn all that shyt and keep it backed up on a hard drive or two and some discs :manny:

Just think, 20-40 years from now the kids today are going to be having this exact discussion when they start exclusively implanting all of our media into a micro chip behind our eye. :lupe:

feel horrible for a generation that will never know what it felt like when your favorite artist dropped their album on Tuesday, getting to a store and buying your favorite artist work for support, getting in the car ripping the plastic off the disc, listening to an entire album of work for the next hour or so, then getting home and reading the booklet from the cd case.
This is the most grandpa statement I've ever read. You officially an old head. :mjlol:

I remember my own grandfather giving me a similar speech about how walkmans and cd players are robbing young brehs of the joys of putting a record into a jukebox machine :pachaha:

GenZ will be fine. Remember that you didn't list the negatives of physical media like scratching your $20 cd and now having a shiny , circular brick on your entertainment stand . or how annoying it was to burn copies of things, instead of just synching between devices. :wow:

Man yall better buy up every dvd and blu ray you can find. With digital media especially streaming you do not control how long you can access your favorite movies they can switch off your service and demand a monthly charge for a movie you already supposedly own digitally. Plus the pay per stream movies lack all the special extras and bonus footage from some of the DVD/Blu Ray releases. On top of that they can change the version of the movie they stream to you at will they can censor "controversial" scenes or remove the film you like from their platform.

Anybody that holds on to a large dvd/bluray collection will eat like a king when all those physical copies become rare. Limited edition dvd and bluray prices will skyrocket. get your ebay account ready.
What about disc rot?

When the medium you use decides they no longer want to host your media 2 decades from now, you'll miss having a physical copy.
As soon as something goes to streaming it is bootlegged anyway, physical sales will be around in some capacity even though it won’t be what we are used to

Better cop the physical copies of your favorite movies/shows while you can. Because with everything going the streaming route, if a certain episode or scene is deemed inappropriate they’re going to either censor it or pull it altogether
Bet they still won't sell em.shyts.for.pennies though
:francis:

I got dozens of full seasons of different shows in the stash
Bought damn near all of them from pawn shops for the low

This is what I plan to do...Blu-Ray discs going extinct...:why: I remember when i played that transformers dark of the moon blu-ray visuals was insane... worth the $20...:wow: this is how certain movies wont be aired on tv or cable anymore you MUST own them before they get phased out... which is what they will do eventually. Disney has done this to their classics...if you hadnt noticed.
