:russ: u just have to see what the 2 films did for the appeal of the 2 superheroes to know MoS didnt move the needle at all

How so? MOS pretty much kicked off the entire Justice League franchise. Everything was banking at how well MOS will perform and it did its job. If it flopped, this thread would never exist because there would be no sequel.

As far as fanboys being angry because Superman killed, that's their miserable problem. The movie was a solid introduction to the rebooted DC universe. You need to be a real self loathing loser if you didn't enjoy MOS. Assuming that's what you meant with the whole needle shyt.

Look it made almost 300 million more inflation or not man
u r also forgeting the 3d aspect? it counts

... And mos had people excited for a superman sequel and justice league movie as opposed to superman returns
erm whats one thing got to do with the other? ppl were excited for the first superman movie since the 80s when returns was announced too.And why would fans anticipate a justice league move when it was never hinted? there was nothing in MoS that would make ppl drool for a justice league movie ppl just were cuz WB threw it out there
. I'm not saying its a better movie or better reviewed but moneywise it's more successful and impactwise it's leading to a batman superman movie that's pretty needle moving
u hurt your point here, because impact wise MoS did diddly squat.Which is why they are bringing in DC/WB sure bet cash cow to pick up the slack. Justice league was already being thrown around the moment WB/DC saw the box office takings for avengers

I never said it flopped but if u honestly think the studio didnt project more then u are kidding yourself. This is the first real superman movie since the first 2 and any way you slice it it under performed. To use "well look at how it has led to the sequel" to anchor your argument is dumb.Because a lot of this stuff is already in motion. WB/DC want a slice of that comic book ensemble money marvel is eating off by any means necessary
.

the fukk mentioned that :why: .

i'll agree to that :ehh: .

doesnt compute, how does not liking a movie thin on substance/ high on action make one a "self loathing loser".You sound like a pimple faced nerd

You're stupid if you don't think their plan was to throw Batman in from the get go
Yeah easy to say that now, it was always a pipe dream but no one thought they'd see it due to nolan/bale and their batman universe contrasting with MoS's, so come off it..

Do you have a link or fact stating it under performed or did you just pull this out of your ass?

superman is synonymous with the word superhero, with the advancements in special effects/comic-book movie boom MoS should've been in the very least the 2nd grossing movie this year, it is/wasnt

it's in third though :manny:

and it lost out two sequels in very successful franchises.

i agree though.. i'm sure the studios expected it to do better than it did.

edit: are quotes fukked up for everyone?

You're still not providing proof that it unperformed. Unless you have a link stating that the studio executives said it unperformed or you were in the war room while they were discussing it, STFU.

If you're trying to compare it to the likes of the avengers or iron man 3, franchises that are certified and established, then you're a bigger fool than I thought. And let's not forget that RDJ is by far one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood.

Fact of the matter is, MOS was reboot to the entire DC franchise using a relatively unknown leading star to reimagine a boyscout mr. goodie 2 shoes character in a modern day grey world. And considering how Superman Returns performed, I'm sure MOS did what it needed to do.

How people compare Avengers, which was the culmination of like 5 different movies and franchises that built up towards it.......to Man of Steel, which was the first movie in the reboot of a brand new universe, is beyond me. I wouldn't say it did bad at all all things considered. Everyone knows this sequel with Batman will do even better from the jump.
