my parents would only woop me when they werent angry, and it worked perfectly to teach me a lesson. not everything is black and white, you are not abusing your kids if you woop them but not every kid is the same. some kids need woopins others dont

Yes it is a major problem in black community. I think children should be disciplined but have a legitimate reason behind it. One thing I cannot stand to see is when a child expresses curiosity and the parent chastizes them. This greatly limits a child's creative potential. Any curiosity should be nurtured and a lot of times I see black parents doing the opposite. My girlfriend grew up afraid to ask her parents anything out of fear of being chastised or even whipped by them.
I didn't get a lot of whoopins, but I got enough.
I feel like it depends on the kid. Some kids all you have to do is put some bass your voice and they'll straighten up. Some you have to pop them one good time. Others you just gotta grab the orange extension cord and wear them the fukk out a few times.

And it depends on your parents. My older brother and older sister got it a lot from our mom. By the time my little sister and I came, it wasn't that bad.
I saw my brother and sister get hit with a wooden broom stick for fighting each other. I vowed never to piss my mom off like that.
