Fukk your studies, I got my ass beat constantly as a child. And guess what? I deserved ever single beating I took. My dad and mom never hit me without good reason. Same goes for my siblings.
And I would say that we all turned out pretty damn good.

Raise your kids however you want, but don't speak so definitively about other practices when they have worked for millennia

Beating kids solves nothing. I'm not currently in college, but congrats telling another brotha "fukk your studies" It just makes them hold resentment and rebel. I didn't get beatings hardly ever and I turned out an upright honest young man It's most likely where their environment is or a mental health issue.

If you believe that physical reprimands have no place in child rearing, then you don't understand human beings, and I honestly don't feel like explaining the basics of human nature.
Not everyone is the same. Some children need it, some do not. Don't tell other people how to raise their children because you fell into the later category.

Beating your children isn't about the maturity of the parent. Its about the child understanding the dynamics of the relationship between parent and child, ramifications or certain actions.
Children are oppurtunistic by nature. They will push you as far as you allow them to.

They will push you because they're a child and don't understand the consequences of their actions. Like I said, my parents established that line without beating me. If I did something wrong they would ground me or take the stuff I loved away simple Beating a child is not asking for a positive outcome. It will make your child fear and hate you.
