You know damn well you can set rules in your home and take electronics away, take other things away from a child and they still will do wrong.

But you put in that mind that they will suffer a whipping, something they can actually feel, you will see a clear difference.

Words are like a loan, its only worth giving as long as it has a stricter hand behind it. The more punishment you put behind a word will make it effective, not just telling them whats right from wrong.

And stop connecting slavery with discipline, that's offensive. In slavery you have no freedom, children have freedom to do whatever they want to do, as long as they know it has to be right. Its offensive to allow your child to go through life thinking that there are not severe consequences for their actions.

i get that. then again im educated and understand was malice is. To a young single mother, or young father who didnt have a father of his own yet is faced with the task of having to discipline his child. Say a child is given a bowl of oatmeal, but he was wants pancakes. Cries, throws tantrum. The child throws the bowl of oatmeal getting it all over the floor, table and during the event throws the spoon which strikes the father (in on his shirt, no bodily harm).

You or your spouse tell your child who is watching tv that you're disappointed in their recent progress report and to turn the tv off and go do some homework and their expectation until their grades go up is that they wont be watching tv or playing videogames. Your child stands up says "SHUT THE fukk UP!!!!!!" then throws the remote at you/your spouse, and you/your spouse ducks right in time and instead of hitting them in the face/head the remote hits the tv behind them cracking the screen.
What reaction is acceptable from the father at this point?

Wrong. My brother been getting whoopings his whole life and stayed the same bad ass kid he was from a toddler all the way to HS. Whoopings dont do shyt. Taking away freedom does
