My teacher told me I would not be a professional athlete...............................why did he have to be right :MJ bowler:
Cliff notes please
As a teacher, one of the most heartbreaking things (for a number of reasons) is having a classroom full of boys who all want to be a professional athlete, even though none of them have ever played a single day of organized sports or have the least bit of athleticism to them at all. They also don't have the resources or support to get better.
That being said, I have made it a point never to shyt on their dreams. All I ask them to do is have a backup plan. Maybe work their asses off to get a scholarship or something and go to a school to become a sports therapist, or sports manager, or lawyer, or something. Anything.
Sadly there's no fame or recognition in there. Matter of fact, about 4 hours, I literally had a kid tell me that he would rather be the player than the owner (we were having a discussion about about Dan Gilbert and the aftermath of Lebron leaving a few years back). It's crazy, but how do you tell the truth without shytting on these kids' dreams?
1st of all I thought this was written by a women. "I love me some draymond green" is straight sista in lust talk.
And secondly why not tell him to come visit the kids and tell them ABOUT BEING A FATHER AND WHAT A CHILD CAN DO WHEN HE HAS A FATHER IN HIS LIFE. A lot of these kids don't have that from what it seems and they're in high school so it's a good chance that they'll be father's in the next 5 years or so (Unfortunately). But don't straight up disregard Steph and throw him in the bushes because he had advantages. Use him to tell them what having advantages can do for your family.
That's cool what you are doing. As a teacher, one of the most heartbreaking things (for a number of reasons) is having a classroom full of boys who all want to be a professional athlete, even though none of them have ever played a single day of organized sports or have the least bit of athleticism to them at all. Nah breh. You don't sell ppl a short outlook on life. You gotta water the seeds.
People function best with positive motivation.
Steph Curry coming could the reason a kid puts forth effort to study harder, make As and go to college. Listening to this teachers logic the kid might as well give up on life at 15 and accept becoming that bus driver.
NBA odds might not be in your favor but living a better life than ur parents gave you can be.

fukk this teacher. His points are valid but the message he has to his kids is basically "aim low cuz you won't amount to shyt".
This teacher is being mad melodramatic and attention whoring with this letter.
He could simply tell Steph to emphasize hard work and pursuing their dreams while making sure they get an education. Emphasize the importance of college and how they need to start getting prepared for it now. By the time you reach highschool, nikkas know most aint got a chance to make the league, especially if you aint a super star in your own area already. These kids already know the deal, why can't they just meet the local sports hero for a day of fun?
lol at struggle lakers. green and rambis has rings. are champions as great as eddie and nick looked on the court. those guys were not winners. i think eddie may have stole a ring with the heat on his last leg. but neither of those guys were winners back in their laker days. you learn something when you're in the presence of winners. and especially "struggle" players. because they will tell you about the hardwork and how hard it was for them not having all the god given talent and or size.I had to settle for Don Ford, Ac Green and Kurt Rambis. All the kids were likeand i was
why couldnt they bring nick van exel or Eddie Jones instead of these struggle lakers

you missed the point. no matter what Curry says it will go in one ear and out of the other. the moment they see him, they will believe they can be him. thats the point of the letter. yall missed it too. lol.
