Agreed. The teacher is an attention whore who probably trying to get a blog or podcast.

His general point no would disagree with but the assumptions about Steph Curry's life wasn't necessary. He could have had made same point speaking on a more general term.

Just because Curry comes from a well off two parent household that negates anything he does in life or any problems he's had??

He went all out to discredit any and everything Steph himself did to get himself to this point

- comes from a two parent household
- born with a silver spoon in his mouth
- hit the genetic lottery
- put on the fast track to the NBA simply cause of who his father was
... stops just short of implying that Steph is who he is simply off the strength of Nepotism.

But more importantly, this is what that teacher thinks of his kids.

I don't respect his post, because this same teacher is too much of a coward to teach these kids what they need to know as well.He teaches a "curriculum" typically not designed for these poor, probaly black kids that he's teaching.

They teach with the idea everybody can and should go to college, when some of these kids havemade it to highschool but can barely read, can barely pass HS:wtb:

Steph would likely tell him some realer shyt like follow your dreams, shyts not as easy as you think, and have a backup plan, nba aint for everybody.

Will this teacher tell any of these kids "College aint for everybody:whoa:".

And Steph hasn't been to the school yet and kids still think this because they are kids, theyll find out the hard way just like the kids yall sent to college:sadcam:,then they'll improvise when reality hits like most people in life do:mjcry:.

Even most of the 35 year olds at the YMCA thinking they still got a chance, typically still have jobs or careers at this point.

Dude really said

"You see, the kids I am talking about do not play year-round, they are not in a travelling league, and they have never even heard of a McDonald’s All-American; they just eat McDonald’s two meals a day and have Hot Cheetos in between."

If his main grievance is with the inability of the public school system to educate these kids..and the numerous ways the system itself refuses to correct it's faults... he should focus on that, not type up clickbait articles on why Steph Curry shouldn't come to his school.

Out here in my damn drawls
You know what I've given this some more thought and I'm gonna say it...fukk that teacher. He's a hoe ass nikka. You should want Steph at your school he's a poster boy role model. Family man, no illegitimate kids, married, never been close to any kind of trouble or fukkery, has manners, and seems to be raised right. That's the kind of people you want around kids. And for that muafukka to write a damn dissertation saying don't come around my school is god damn idiotic And frankly it's irresponsible. So anyone who didn't crawl their way out of the bottom with only one parent or a broken home isn't worthy enough to talk to your kids. bytch please. fukk this teacher.

These schools see nothing wrong with bringing inmates in schools to talk to these kids tho. That shyt happened to me in elementary and middle school, but when I transfered to the white school district in 8th grade, no more visits from prisoners :mjpls:

As a teacher, one of the most heartbreaking things (for a number of reasons) is having a classroom full of boys who all want to be a professional athlete, even though none of them have ever played a single day of organized sports or have the least bit of athleticism to them at all. They also don't have the resources or support to get better.

That being said, I have made it a point never to shyt on their dreams. All I ask them to do is have a backup plan. Maybe work their asses off to get a scholarship or something and go to a school to become a sports therapist, or sports manager, or lawyer, or something. Anything.

Sadly there's no fame or recognition in there. Matter of fact, about 4 hours, I literally had a kid tell me that he would rather be the player than the owner (we were having a discussion about about Dan Gilbert and the aftermath of Lebron leaving a few years back). It's crazy, but how do you tell the truth without shytting on these kids' dreams?
Man you really can't say sh*t to anyone outside of your immediate family these days without being labeled a hater. Its beyond sports and entertainment. Somebody will tell me about a business or new life changing thing they want to start but in reality they don't have the work ethic or hustle to do anything close to it. A few do but most:comeon:. Unless you really ask for my opinion, I don't sh*t on nobodies dreams. More power to you :manny:

This is one of those, good message but god awfully delivered pieces that's gonna do more harm than good.

She sure as hell aint asking Jeff from Hunters Point who works for BART to come in and tell them kids they need to realize they're probably never going to be anything more than average......simply cause that's more in tune with the truth.

Nah breh. You don't sell ppl a short outlook on life. You gotta water the seeds.

People function best with positive motivation.

Steph Curry coming could the reason a kid puts forth effort to study harder, make As and go to college. Listening to this teachers logic the kid might as well give up on life at 15 and accept becoming that bus driver.

NBA odds might not be in your favor but living a better life than ur parents gave you can be.
