I didnt get the ending... The movie was underwhelming, it felt more of a drama piece than thriller or action

The ending is meant to be interperted to a deeper meaning i get it, but we've already disected Batman and Joker's relationship
It cant get any deeper to what we can interperet

That shyt wasn't funny but Batman gave Joker his moment. We really didn't need to see Batman whoop that trick and take him to jail :yeshrug:

So she did get raped ? I thought the rape scene would be worse I kept bracing myself for it
The. Batgirl story through me off I thought they was going make the first bad guy the joker :russ:
:mjlol:that mafia dude that kept messing with Batgirl was a scumbsg to the 10th power :russ:Iwas leaning to him being Joker too lol

I think she did get raped, at least in this version, since the hookers said Joker comes by every time he breaks out of Arkham but this time he didn't: "I guess he found another girl."

Batman/Batgirl seems out of character to me. Would Bruce really fukk Gordon's daughter? And it adds a new level of fukked-uppedness to him sharing a laugh with the Joker at the very end...

This was okay. A lot of the stuff from the comic worked and I didn't mind the prologue. And the thing that happens in the prologue simply does what Bruce Timm only hinted at in the animated series although I'm not sure how necessary it was. Actually, it wasn't necessary at all. He said it was done for a couple reasons, mostly to show how both barbara and bruce made mistakes but yeah that could've been illustrated differently. It didn't offend me at all, just kinda pointless in the grand scheme of the movie.

It's a very faithful adaptation other than that but I think that shows that maybe this isn't something that should be adapted because it's not that long. The story would need to be padded out and that didn't work completely here

:ohhh: I haven't watched the movie yet, but I can't believe they really went there.

I've read a lot of complaints about the Batman/Batgirl relationship. Is everyone forgetting that Batman/Batgirl had a relationship in one of the most celebrated verses in DC, the DCAU?

They even expanded on it in the Batman Beyond comics recently. I liked Bruce Timm's explanation for it - "It's wrong...but it's supposed to be." It's really not a hard concept for me to grasp like it apparently is for some people.

Maybe it just feels tacked on. I haven't seen it.

Yet. :youngsabo:

I haven't read those Batman Beyond comics, but in the "Batman Beyond" animated series they only hinted/implied & left it open-ended that it happened. So it doesn't have the same impact & easy to ignore or forget.

Brehs I'm like :dahell: did I just watch?

I don't remember the story from the books but was it like this? This movie was kinda underwhelming. And I'm a DCAU stan.

I love DCAU but the felt a little "meh".

It was good in places, but by the end I was just sitting there like "that's it?"

6/10 for me.

Just saw it last night.

Probably would give it a 3/5 but this was probably one of my least favorite DC animated movies.

I understand they did the Batgirl story to make people have sympathy for her but it felt too disconnected when the actual comic story began.

They probably could have used that first 30 minutes making up a story about him bringing in Joker 2 years earlier rather than a random villain. Maybe have Batman going to far then and Batgirl stops him from killing him. She ends up quitting and Batman reflects over the situation. 2 years later, they pick up with the actual story.

That sh*t was mediocre at best, boarderline trash. The animation was damn near South Park level.. what happened to DC Animation:why:

I thought it was dope. Wasn't perfect, somehow it got slower when Joker showed up. But I enjoyed it. Better than a couple of the others I've seen, like Son of Batman and Bad Blood

Anybody else catch that when Batman was standing on a roof next to a GOTHAM STORAGE sign the T and O neon lights were blinking and it spelled out GOTHAMS RAGE.

Just sayin', even in a less than great DCAU flick there's room for subtlety and hidden messages, and the DC live action series' ideas of subtle is a Lex Corp sticker on a satellite lol
