I mean, could they of set it up another way? Yeah, but compared to all the other Batman movies this shyt was done a helluva lot better than the other movies though. To me, it didn't take anything away from me. I guess cause I literally never read the comics first for any Marvel/DC experience, them adding extra shyt like this wasn't something that made me cringe, I mean I get what your saying that it was unnecessary but it could of been worse.

But the source material wasn't much to add onto and I think they wanted to keep it as close as they could and giving Barbara and Batsy context made sense to me.

:yeshrug:

Then again, I'm the muthafukka that loved the Angry Birds movie so :yeshrug:

I'd say there's a way to give Barbara something to do other than making her a little girl with a crush, which is ultimately what happened. The context is she's batgirl, he's batman. That's enough reason for him to be pissed and go after joker. That'd be like saying they needed to make Jason and Batman have a sexual relationship to give context as to why he was so pissed Joker killed him

I dunno, Barbara always came off as having a thing for Batman, but I'm only basing it off of this movie and TAS. I mean yeah he should go after cause she's apart of the squad but adding didn't take anything away from it for me.

Her attitude has always been let me prove I'm worthy to Batman so he notice me kinda deal. I mean, how many times did she put herself in shytty situation cause of it?

In the animated series they had a thing but it wasn't all she was about and it was also something dealt with much better there than here.

I'm only speaking as a fan of the character though. Reducing her to some school girl with a crush wasn't needed for the story. She's stronger than that and smarter than that as is Batman. And in the comics, she's not really concerned with proving anything to him. None of them are at this point.

I didnt get the ending... The movie was underwhelming, it felt more of a drama piece than thriller or action

The ending is meant to be interperted to a deeper meaning i get it, but we've already disected Batman and Joker's relationship
It cant get any deeper to what we can interperet
The ending is that the joker won. The joke was a metaphor for their relationship, Joker had enough sense to realize that there was no hope for him, because Batman himself is still crazy, how can the system redeem him when it couldn't redeem Batman who's so obviously damaged, but disguising it.
Only difference is Batman is closeted crazy, and joker is outright crazy and knows he is, commissioner gordon didn't snap, but Batman did, his laughter is he himself coming to terms with his own crazy and joker being right. You know why Batman doesn't kill joker? Because joker keeps him from being the joker. (Batman who laughs)
