The St. Louis police have been quiet since the riots. There was even a black mayor elected.

Heal what, there can be no healing until problems are fixed, if you cut your leg open and don't get it stitched up, how can it heal?

These protests are about police brutality and unfortunately, Freddie Gray is just one of countless Black men who have been murdered by police, the only thing that's irresponsible is your suggestion that we need to heal and repair, all while providing no alternative solutions to the planned protests.

His family are just people and who knows what their motives are or whether they are misguided. People are rioting so that Freddie Gray death isn't meaningless and so that no black person should die as he did. This ideal carries value and provokes response all on its own. Gray isn't here to tell us what to do, but I'm sure if he were, he would join us.

When countries go to war over the deaths of their citizens, they don't have to ask their grieving citizen's families. The unjust and murderous acts in and of themselves justify a response. We answer only to our moral compass.
