Yeah. Cuz Ryback has only been around for a year:rudy:
:what: He's only been 'Ryback' in the WWE for maybe six months, during which he's squashed non-wrestlers, said three words, feuded with no one, and not even shown that he can work a proper match in the ring.

There is no way they can have Punk go over Ryback. There is no believable scenario where a 120 pound homeless looking fagat like Punk could beat anyone, in any way as big as Ryback. It's just not believable and it would kill his momentum.

Bad enough Cena continues to puts him over and no one buys it, but Ryback would be ridiculous.

So you're going to completely piss away a major cornerstone of Punk's reign and current character, as well as what will assuredly be a major part of the Rock/Punk feud, just to make sure Ryback doesn't lose?

I'm going to put this in all caps, because people aren't getting it: RYBACK IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS BUILDING TO ROCK/PUNK, SOMETHING THEY'VE BEEN BUILDING TO SINCE JULY. AS A MATTER OF FACT, RYBACK ISN'T EVEN AS IMPORTANT AS BLOWING OFF PUNK/CENA NEXT MONTH SO THEY CAN BUILD AND REBUILD FOR THE FUTURE.

ULTIMATELY, THIS IS JUST A CHAPTER IN THE PUNK/CENA AND ROCK/PUNK BUILDS. TREAT IT AS SUCH.

I agree with you that the Internet cares too much at times about making everyone look strong. This is a case where they should go with the guy they want to push 100%.

The problem is that having Punk beat Ryback kills a guy who had the potential to draw money. He's not a sure thing, but he has a decent shot at drawing money in this business. CM Punk? His claim to fame in one year as top guy/co-top guy is doing a 15k buy increase on a B level ppv. Sacrificing Ryback for the sake of building a proven non-draw is bad business.

Punk fans will want him to beat Rock next and swear he just needs more victories or years with the belt for anyone to spend a dime to watch him or tune to Raw.

booker droppin some knowledge

During an interview with the PWTorch Livecast, Booker T revealed that Ryback has the full support of the WWE locker room. He said: "Definitely, I think the locker room is rooting for him. He knows what the respect issue is in the business. He knows what that really, really means, and how far he's going to go or not go (based on respect). He's a humble kid. I do think the locker room is pulling for him to do well." Even though Ryback hasn't had a main event level match yet, Booker thinks he will be able to hold his own against CM Punk. He added: "The tale is going to be told after he goes out there in the big main event slot. If he can pull that match up and pull that match together. If he can do that, his stock is going to go way up. If he goes out there and flops, it's going to go way down. So, I look forward to Ryback going out there and being able to pull the job off. I really think he can get it done."

I agree with these two points completely.

No matter how you look at it Punk is a flop as champ. Ryback is hot and fresh, something the WWE desperately needs. You can't hurt Ryback's potential to put over a proven non-draw. Ryback not only needs to win, but it needs to be a dominant win.

They could have either immediately went with Ryback when Cena decided to have the surgery or someone else. But the issue would have been that someone stepping down so Ryback could eat or everything Punk has become being thrown in the bushes cause it wouldn't make sense against the opponent.

TSC get fukkery no matter what though. :yeshrug:

This is another important point. We all know wrestling is predetermined now, but remember how into it you were as a kid when you didn't know? What a magical time that was. I was raised on Goldberg and the NWO, I didn't know it was fake until somebody told me.

There are tons of kids watching WWE right now thinking it"s real and won't find out that it's fake for a few years, unless they do something completely unbelievable like have Punk win here.

And that flopped. Rey is at his best in the midcard, given screentime, he's still over, draws viewers, and can sell his masks without hurting the businesses credibility. Punk is a similar case, minus the drawing aspect.
