What do any of these scenarios have to do with the fact that Blacks in PG County have the highest median income of any majority black county?

If a 1 bedroom costs 17k a month, and you make 45k a month... how is that lower class? you can afford to have two of those 1 bedrooms at the same damn time :takedat:

since when is making 540k a year considered lower class?

what are you talking about breh:heh:
I mean 45k annual not pay check. 45k annual with a 1700 rent.

Just because their pay is high doesn't mean shyt when the cost of living is high. Everyone here knows you are stupid so I'm pretty much done with talking to you.

Culture? you have got to be kidding? like Bushwick had any kind of culture you would want to live around..

The people living in those trashy neighborhoods did nothing all these years to make their neighborhood better, now that other people are coming in and making it better, they complain???? Low income people don't even have the decency to keep their buildings clean.

You have black and latino family's(going back generations) that have been somewhat supported or even completely funded by the government, and landlords who were stuck with them because of draconian laws. This is what happens when you don't own.

Stop sitting around complaining about the day someone might come with a fist full of dollars to boot you out of your Section 8 slice of heaven.

Blacks and latino's need to start owning.
Where they supposed to get the money to start owning?

a few things

1.That's still "affordable" breh....and still doesn't qualify for your 75% of your income going to rent. you'd need to up that figure to a rent around $2800

2. the income: cost of living ratio is only relative to where/how one chooses to live..... a husband and wife who both make 45k annually, cause easily afford a $1700 or even a $3k rent...

now, it'd make much more sense for them to drop that type of money on a mortgage.... but if they chose to live somewhere with that type of rent... it's possible.

:mjlol: So if I want more Ricans and nikkas living in my area that means it got to be a beat down shythole? Do you not know the implications of gentrification? :mjlol:

Increased property values?
Nicer neighborhoods?
Less crime?

The funny thing is you clowns feel the neighborhood is yours because you RENT there. By definition, NONE OF IT is yours. If they really wanted to own their neighborhoods they'd do something productive..then they might be able to actually afford to buy a piece of their beloved slum. If they actually OWNED property in BK they'd be giddy at the thought of gentrification. Having their shytty little stucco hovels double and triple in price would be the best thing to ever happen to them.

What i'm saying is, when you don't own, things like this do happen...and will continue to happen.

Another thing is, Gentrification doesn't always involve white people. It's a class/money thing. There are plenty BLACKS with money returning to Brooklyn & Harlem. Gentrifies can be of any race.

Middle class people of any color tend to be quicker to speak up and make the system work for them. Especially if you're a homeowner--you have a vested interest in making the neighborhood look good, improving the school ratings, all these things that will pay off for you. That's why these neighborhoods get better services.

Poverty itself fosters a passive mentality, a "you can't win no matter what you do" idea that can be very entrenched and difficult to shake off. Newcomers bring in their skills in mobilizing people to complain and hold politicians accountable. First thing that they do is take over the Community Board.

In Stone Mountain, GA it used to be like 95 percent white and like a haven for KKK members. Around the 70s or 80s black people with money started to take over and today its the complete opposite.

This is what happens when you do not own property and don't understand the importance of community.... it's not a superplan to segregate blacks.
