I ain't even think of it like that :ohhh:

Dominicans also own a lot of the shyt in Washington Heights, the barber shops, taxi bases, grocery stores and super markets, bakeries, clothing stores, etc. and they have more control in the local politics with their elected official if I'm not mistaken. It's also just their immigration hub they gonna keep coming...

Wash Heights is one of those neighborhoods that I just can't see being taken over :manny:

Thats what i thought about the west indian population here in flatbush BUT they are here and slowly coming :upsetfavre:

Why the fukk didn't the drug dealers and musicians in New York buy up all the real estate when it was predominantly black and cheap? They could have made a grip during this gentrification. Black people STAY losing in this country.

Yeah, brehs too busy listening to dope 90s rap and bragging about being thugged out instead of buying property and businesses.

I can attest to this.

I used to work out in flatbush for my job almost two years ago....we would do door to door work and I was surprised to see white people actually living in some of those spots...especially close to the train station on nostrand.

Again...cheap rents. They're there for the cheap rents.

Ultimately , it all boils down on us we should of copped property back when it was actually affordable , but at the same time you can't downplay the pivotal effect the crack epidemic had , even though I wasn't alive for all lat , it's evident the first priority on people mind wasn't to purchase buildings when numerous heads was strung out & nikkas was copping kilos to flip instead and when you come from poverty and see that type of bread overnight you're not going to be the most intelligent when it comes to economics and estate , your going to have a whole other agenda with that paper . Plus no one would foreshadow that New York would turn out like this when you're peaking at 2000+ murders to less than 500 15 years later , Some cats who were exposed to that weren't prepared nor ready for that change and had no chance to adapt , some did but not a majority . Also cats need to know how cocaine/crack ended up in most inner cities as well but that a whole nother topic :mjpls: . I ain't gonna say my post was accurate though because like I said I wasn't alive for all that even though I remember seeing crack viles & needles on the floor in the early 00s I know it was on a whole different echelon back then

No they aren't because at the end of the day what I said was factual and they know numerous obstacles & distractions was put in front of people during those times but they want to act oblivious to that and troll and like "But-but why didn't they purchase property :troll:" Like redlining didn't exist & cats mind state was filled with clarity during that era . Majority of dysfunctional shyt we still see till this day is a clear result of the crack epidemic & now that I think about I even remember seeing crackheads parents / kids with learning disabilities off the strength of that back when I was in elementary & I was born in mid 90s:dahell: , but nikkas think Crack just magically got put to a cease in the early 90s & to keep it a stack it wasn't until mid 00 the transformation was fully complete and you weren't seeing crack viles & needles on the floor like that . Atleast where I'm from .

Artists, writers, musicians and other visionaries made New York what it is. That includes minorities but, it included whites too. Point is, those creative types can't live in New York anymore. Ben the Investment Banker didn't make New York hot. Charles the Upper East Side Trust Fund baby didn't make New York hot. That's all who can afford to live there now. I say let them have it :camby: You acting like it's not entirely plausible for a new city to do to New York what New York did to London a century ago.
Unfortunately every big city in the western world is being subjected to same thing as NYC, it's not unique to the city.

Wait until they try this shyt in North Philly or South Side Chicago.

Breh... They already did it in Chicago.

Chicago is already is the most segregated city in the US.

When they started tearing down projects and created "mixed-income" housing in an attempt to combat gangs.... that was gentrification.

They've also progressively forced lower income people further and further south

You're not gonna see it happen at a rapid pace like in NYC because there are far more houses, and thus more homeowners....1 homeowner can prevent a development from ever being constructed on their block.

Just what do you consider the razing of Chicago housing projects?

They knocked them down, displaced thousands of tenants... and built new "mixed-income" neighborhoods in their place.....with no fukks given about who used to live there.

it wasn't done just once or twice, it was done multiple times

how much more major scale does it get than that?
