Dr. Strange had some of the best set-pieces in the MCU. i think you can make an argument that the action beats were better than anyone else's debut solo films - Astral plane, bending cities, hospital fight, reverse fight in Tokyo or wherever, etc. the sequel is gonna be insane

My wife reminded me that the payoff is worth it. I was telling her idk this movie kind of made me like the Whole MCU a lot less. But she reminded me it IS worth it because it's worth it to see Ironman die again

Only thing that really bothered me about Dr. Strange is the timeline. He became the Sorcerer Supreme way too quick. He should have hurt his hands around the time Stark became Ironman and been in training for years not months.
Also, they wasted Mads. He had some good lines and actually killed The Ancient One but it felt lacking plus he got a lot of attention taken away by Dormammu.
But yes great set pieces and the time loop was inventive. Still as decent as the action is in it Russo's did him more justice in IW.
