However, the overall culture of a household or school can effect one's approach to things.I'm not saying parents don't play a part but culture outside of that is very important too. It's one of the reasons why merely changing one's zip code and thus school district can make a world of difference for a child.

If your solution is more fathers none of that can be done without fixing the other systemic issues that cause that in the first place. The way our police forces operate for one is a massive issue. Not to mention the various infrastructure issues which cause problems in income as well. It’s not an easy fix as some might think

Yes, they need to see more brothas in jobs that give them access to different paths, something simple as branch chain operations management instead of business, construction management instead of going into construction, or concrete too

Man, listen. With an industrial engineering degree, not only do you open yourself up to the engineering world (IE, CI Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, etc), but you also open yourself up to a world in supply chain, logistics, operations, transportation, etc. Our youngins just need the knowledge; someone to give them those seeds.

Black fathers have always been the answer. We, as men, are the only ones that can fix this, and get us up out of this hell we are in as a community overall. If someone tells
you different, they’re not thinking of community. They are thinking of self. It’s pretty simple; if you bring some kids in this world, raise them. If you’re not up for the task, either protect yourself when it comes to sex, or don’t have it. No matter how many men and women try to tell you that it can be done without a 2 parent household, we know that things are optimal and run much better, in a 2 parent household. Men have to be in their children’s lives; especially their sons.

Man, I hear ya, but you can avoid all this by going towards STEM programs, and programs that are more technical in nature. There are even certain business and accounting programs available, and you avoid all that as long as you stay on your grind. On my side of the campus, all that was avoided. You were only exposed to it if you wanted to be.

Some of the HBCUs are working to try to resolve the problem by interacting with young males before they make it out of high school. Still, the schools also need to be able to compete with other pipelines of income earning like 6certs, Apprenticeships, etc. Sometimes the cost of school vs increase income earned may not be enough to overcome just going the less costly path that pays an income that is little bit less than many of the degree fields people are going into.

Simply put, while this issue is a worrisome one for colleges and self-inflicted partner choice loss in options for some college educated women, the men are still able to make a decent income with a lot less debt going the trade skills route. As long as they have the basic skills needed in areas of reading and mathematics, they can still acquire a livable income.

So, the real focus should be dealing with the basic skills our children possess coming out of the public schools Their choices as adults are their own, but they definitely need to be well prepared enough to have those choices available to them, be it college or not. It is up to the colleges to make themselves a more appealing choice in the face of those competing options. Right now, young women are more willing to take out as many loans as needed/wanted to get their degrees (Some coming out with debt in the +50k for undergraduate non-STEM degrees). These young men are doing quick cost benefit analysis and figuring out they can do well without the overwhelming initial loan debt.

So if I had a son, I would pay for his entire college degree like I was willing to do for my daughter and sister (They got scholarships so that saved us a pretty penny), though I can understand young men looking at the costs being too prohibitive in light of other options.

This is dumb and insanely regressive. If your goal is to outright cripple the education system, then I guess I could see why you'd even remotely think this would work. It also will just increase the cost of education, again the primary barrier to entry for college is cost. This will drive down numbers of everyone including women that attend schools.

I’m not suggesting it will be easy at all but to save black boys its clear we need more fathers and fatherly figures (uncles grandpa neighborhoods, male teachers, etc) present for young black boys to become successful

Too many of us are being abandoned or led down the wrong path and it’s clear that women alone cannot raise our boys

A rejection of stats that help build a guide to how we can address issues affecting our community isn't just ignorant, it's counterproductive. People who believe only anecdotal experience is enough to solve a massive problem that affects millions of people aren't even remotely qualified to try and find the solution.

Besides, nothing, you posted here tells us a damn thing about why we're failing from an economic standpoint. "I saw this criminal scam a system, so only my experience matters. We shouldn't be providing government resources to people in the black community" is just insanely short-sighted and completely worthless to this conversation.
