The academic underperformance of middle class and upper middle class Black boys (in comparison to both black girls and other boys in general) undermines predictable notions of the moral grandstanding "it's the CULTURE" arguments.

Most medical doctors in the US today are females.
Across the board men are checking out.

Men of all races, period. Even white and Asian males are going to college at much, much lower rates than a decade ago. Gen Z males pretty much see education as female-catered. Hence the reason why school shootings are now a normal weekly occurance. :yeshrug:

We need the Scandinavian education model in America, and I mean we need it FAST.

School shooting frequency in 2023 is linked to males seeing education as female-centered?
Is this supported by evidence?
Do you think a smilie in a post mentioning mass shootings is appropriate?

We talk about black Brit’s taking acting roles, well how often do we make it cool for the avg black boy at a black school to be in the theater club without questioning his sexuality?
Can’t lie, some years back I was visiting my cousin and she had her 9 year old son in private acting/theater classes. Initially thought it was odd, but went to his class later that night….it was dope and he really enjoyed it.

He’s 15 now, still doing theater. Wants to get into film whether it be acting or behind the scenes.

Conversely, I remember when my niece was about 1 or 2, it being brought up that she shouldn’t play basketball cause she might become a dyke lol. Was a wild/funny take at the time to me, and only now am I seeing I was doing a similar thing with theater/and my little cousin.

(My niece plays basketball now and my bro teaches/plays with her all the time)

It’s also socialization, most black parents can only think of sports when it comes to an activity to put their boys in, girls can range from dance to sports to choirs to art classes etc
This is true, as an aside tho…maybe it’s just my circle, but I see a lot more parents being lenient and if their kid says they don’t like x y z activity (even before they’ve tried it sometimes), they allow the kid to disengage from it.

That goes for boys and girls, but with the boys there’s sometimes the added factor of ‘that’s lame’.

Feel like slightly older generations, rightfully, forced kids to engage in whatever activity so the could at least give it a real chance.

Standardized testing That is culturally biased

Drill pop quizzes from redundant homework

Learning material intentionally being presented to be boring. Practically teachers disrespecting the source material as a form of punishment.

I can't wait until TED Talks talking poibts and A.I. comes through and ravage the teaching profession altogether.
:gucci: We don’t do pop quizzes anymore , homework is cut down and only given out to only one day a week , nikka knowledge is to enlighten not entertain, school not tik tok , you ain’t taking about shyt , carry on:heh:

this is a big thing i'm seeing across the board across races...too many parents letting kids fully run the show. it's one thing to be forcing your kid to do an activity they hate for years on end, but kids are fickle, you have to engage them in stuff and make them follow through to help them find the things they like. parents pay $500 for a soccer season and let their kid quit after game 2

I can personally admit that held me back MASSIVELY but I never found anything that really engaged me.

Even now sticking to things is something I'm working on. Starting new hobbies now to counteract it.

It is. Sad but of we have to get to the bottom of it, we have to address the main issue of why education and how it is being taught is outdated.
