I don't understand the local buzz. You know how many rappers have buzz in their home town that will never make it out? Internet buzz >>>>>.

I mean you would expect a rapper who shouts out Harlem and shoots his videos in his hood to have some sort of local following... it doesn't have to be crazy

Harlem didn't fukk with him cause he was too hipster, too trendy and very new to the game. He had a small following, and he of course knows Harlem cats.
NY doesn't fukk with rappers until they put in heavy work whether it's on the internet (asap), in the south (french) or with 10 albums/mixtapes (action).

the dude is a parody rapper. He won't blow nor would he be around long enough

The fact that he has a deal mean and he is performing at award shows means he already blew. Once again there are hundreds of rappers known in their home town that will never make it out. After state property, and before Meek philly was full of these 'next up' type rappers that are known all over town and have buzz with no deal.

I think that sometimes too. nikkas be going from no name rappers to household names with 1 or 2 Youtube videos now :ld:

They can't all be industry plants cuz Chief Keef & his boys did the same. Lil Mouse too. None of those nikkas had deals at first. Its just the way the game is. Low barrier to entry. Its more garbage out but, if you got what the people want, you can write your own ticket :wow:

that's different tho
if you have a strong local buzz in NY or LA or even Atlanta then that's a strong indication that you're next up

Regarding Lil B as a label plant. I used to play poker with his manager aka Jimmy Iovine's nephew. And he told me they are about to make Lil B the new hot thing with the cooking dance. Now mind you I'm a big hip hop fan and I usually know about all the new trends/movements or w/e but this was well before i had heard anything about "cooking". Sure enough 3 months later I see him doing it and random hip hop sites putting his videos up everywhere.

Give some more examples of rappers who are considered industry plants.

Every rapper that's come out in the past 4-5 years are apparently plants.

I've heard:

Drake
Cole
ASAP
Odd Future
2 Chainz
Kendrick
Wiz
Mac Miller
Joey Bada$$
Kirko Bangz
KRIT
