what type of peanut-butter & jelly chit is this?

why dont YOU post something culturally relevant from wutang in the past 10 years.

i could at least post semi-relevant stuff from bone in the past 6 years. you cant even do that for wutang.

you drunk?

this isnt good.

this is why wutang fans get a bad rep.

try 2006-2007

lol @ ob4cl2 being an event. only on the internet.

that chit didnt even exist in the outside world. you guys are funny.

lol @ bone/wu never being an argument. youre bordering "garbage poster" territory. be careful with yourself.

big's verse was simpler and easier to recite. i guess wish bone is the best member of the group right?

lol @ nobody cares about the SWV song.......but they care about rockwilder?:laff:

method man & redman is a seperate group.

if we're talking about songs with "stank" on it, then we could easily include a strong amount of bone collabs that were bigger and/or better than that song.

that song came out close to 2 years after the fact.

are we really comparing them to an r&b group now?

yall really in here trying to toss SWV under the bus?

and none of this has anything to do with anything. the bottom line is that SWV gave them a boost and got them on daytime radio when their album wasnt selling chit.

and for the record, SWV sold way more than 3 millie. theyre one of the top selling american female groups of all-time. and its not even about sales. and you cant compare r&b sales to rap and pop sales. thats crazy

oh and:
SWV >>>> WUTANG
since yall want to take it there

I can't take you seriously if you don't realize that OBFCL2 was THE album of 2009.

I know you were only 8 at the time, but whoever told you the Wu blew up bc of SWV lied to you. Cream was already a hit at that point (hell - it's briefly sampled in Anything). I'm sure the SWV record helped - but the Wu blew up bc of Cream which was already a hit.

bizzy shut biggie down lyrically as well.

you can make a case for krayzie too.

then we see eye to eye, because i never take anything seriously that comes off of your keyboard.

the difference between you & me is that you just listen to hip-hop. i live it.

there were other groups that outkast trailed in popularity before they could even be compared to bone & wu.

and yes, by 2000, they were making music for office negroes & soccer moms. and even with the sales they were raking in, they still didnt have the status of bone & wu in 2000. not with that wack @$$ stankonia album. you cant be serious. wasnt nobody checking for them on that level.

the whole idea that outkast should be mentioned in this convo is revisionist thinking. and thats just something that im not willing to entertain in here. no offense.

as for bone. that 3lw song was forced on them by the label. bizzy even spoke out about it in a classic interview. and nobody is defending uni-5, which came out a decade after the fact anyway. besides, the label chose those uni-5 tracks. u-neek was playing alot of the unreleased beats for it on youtubes. as for bow wow, hes ohio bretheren, and they always had ties to so so def.

You lived it huh? As an 8 year old? You are delusional.

These Bone Stan's need to acknowledge that their enunciation was awful. The flow and voices always sounded great but what they were saying was beyond the point. Sort of like a Michael Jacckson song.

Y'all want us to acknowledge something based off of yalls ignorance tho,I will do no such thing.......a lot of y'all have exposed the fact y'all don't know any of these songs, and I believe u said u only skimmed thru most of E99 or Creepin' the other day, hopefully u got to check it out since then in full with a open mind....the only one I can give u is Bizzy is hard to understand sumtimes and that wuz later down the line, they early material u shouldn't have problems understanding any of them.

As a fan of E40 like u,how many times have u heard people say "he sucks cuz I can't understand em:mjpls:"...that would sound ridiculous to u cuz u probaly understand just fine cuz u grew up on it....they hard to understand if u don't listen to em like that POSSIBLY down the line, but that would just make the person who doesn't understand ignorant on the situation doesn't it?which its perfectly fine to be that,I don't understand cheef keef on his album a lot,and I'm cool with that,I'm not gon try to,if I start hearin great things and he's around for yrs I might change my mind:russ:...sumbodys who's taken time to listen might understand him fine:manny:

The burden is on Wu stans to be able to understand Bone if they wanna be able to have a real discussion about this, understandably its more work on ur end cuz Wu is easier to understand even thru all the bullshyt they be talkin about that have u :mindblown::wtf: at times....Bone fans in here understand both groups and have come to the educated conclusion that Bone is the better group....Wu fans look like u got homework to do:whew: or continue to speak out loudly and strongly in ignorance:russ:

And notorious thugs is a mediocre Biggie verse acknowledge that shyt, its the gimmick of him tryin Bones that got folks givin extra credit points, yeah its typical Bone ,and maybe typical Bone ain't no match for Biggie, but they are a match for biggie tryna be Bone:usure: excuse me for not bein impressed by a underwhelming attempt of double time flow...HIS flow and HIS delivery what make em hot:manny:...sumbody actually said "but u givin bone credit cuz they rappin faster than biggie?",no that's what your doin givin biggie credit for rappin faster than biggie normally rap, flow wise they all arguably killed biggie and he sacrificed his lyrics and delivery to do they flow so he don't wow u there either.

Obviously the faster you rap (or even just talk for that matter) the more careful you have to be to make sure what you are rapping is intelligible. To me, Bone crosses the line where style trumps substance. Like I said - with Bone, how it's said it's more important than what is actually said.

Like I said at the beginning - I don't want to speak on comparing the music because I'm not a fan of Bone and I never paid any attention to the music beyond their singles. Like I said - I'm not in a position to judge Bone vs anyone. But I can give my perspective on their legacy as well as the Wu's legacy.

Let me give you an example. I never liked the fugees. I thought they were corny and blew up off an R&B song. I've never heard the Score all the way through or Lauryn's solo. But as a lifelong hip hop fan I have to admit that the general consensus is that both albums are classics and Lauryn was an elite mc. The general consensus, as I see it, makes no such provision for Bone.

By general consensus do you mean the media?or the reception around u at the time from the actual people wasn't that it wuz classic?the reaction at the times everybody had that shyt and was talkin about how crazy it wuz, nikkas wuz mindblown..if that wuznt the reception around u at the time I can't blame u for havin that thought I guess....but what r u basin the consensus off of,cuz plenty of folks hold those albums in high regard....if u just basin it off media I can't respect that

Matter of fact, kinda confused why people always cut double CD sales in half. "Forever" sold 4 mill at $16. "Ironman", "OB4CL", etc. were $8. The same goes for Pac and "AEOM". The double CD is 2x as expensive as his regular albums.

Fred.

16? try 22. double cds were exspensive as fukk in those days. the only cheap double albums i ever seen were in 2000s era, dipset/outkast

I spent like $20 for "Forever", around the same for "AEOM", but I meant the prices on Amazon, so nobody thinks I'm making up prices from the 90s.

I actually used to interpret Bone songs to my crew. Bizzy included. It's not hard to get if you choose to try. I stopped caring by 1997.

to anybody that says bone thugs is better than wu tang. have you ever took the time to read the lyrics of bone thugs n harmony? :laff: for real, they are NOT saying anything complex. it's actually very simple. their flow and style pretty much is what makes them good, NOT their lyrics. i remember back in 2006, i was reading the lyrics from their first album and i was like "what type of wack shyt is this?" their lyrics were so fukking simple that i was like wow. it sounds so nice when they rap it but reading it made me feel really silly. a kid can write that shyt.

wu tang is far superior as a group.
