People know it b y heart because BIGs verse was a lot slower and simplistic compared to Bones verses. I know word 4 word all the verses on notorius thugs, including bones.

People who try 2 shyt on bones style and say that they can't understand them, essentially expose their ability to adequatley listen. It goes way over their heads, while bone fans have a sharp ear to decipher what they are saying. I have never met anyone in real life off of the net that thought that BIG was the best on that track. Everyone I have ever came across collectivelu agreed that Bone rapped circles around BIG. And kep in mind, I'm a BIG fan

Dude im 33 and I bought life after death for $5 from my friends who stole like 10 copies that day when it was released..

How long have I been listening to hip hop...since rappers delight, the message, run DMC etc..why?

My people still paid attention to who had the better verse. But you're right that people started exaggerating about this one killed the other one post ether. I can tell you that at some point in 1997 I just started fast forwarding to the next song after Bigs verse. Mel has said he did the same thing. I know some of my people did it to. I think if you have trouble hearing everything Bone says (like I always have) it's hard to really rock with them.

I work early mornings but what the hell are y'all doing up at this time?

if youre referring to the force mds, they just used "tender love" as the intro. the actual beat came from herb alpert's "making love in the rain". he joint with janet jackson and the other chick. lisa something. i have writer's block right now. i made an epic thread about it not too long ago.

did you cut the video off after 15 seconds so that you can call it weak? and how dont you remember it?

it went platinum homie.

and it aired on BET as well.

ur pushing hard for outkast in numerous posts.

bone thugs & wutang were the pac & big of rap groups during that era. thats why they were always compared. they were clearly the 2 most popular.

outkast wasnt even top 5. and no, they didnt remain relevant in hip-hop longer. they went pop.

i wish yall would stop with this revisionist outkast stuff. thats why i like to chit on them on here.

no offense but you wouldnt understand.

your life isnt comparable to those cut from my cloth.

lets just leave it at that buddy.

:bustback::bustback::bustback::bustback:

SET THIS CHIT RIGHT OFF.

im about to shut this thread down too. you know theyre posting with guilt and realize that theyre full of chit.

@Big Mel knows what hes doing. hes not a jack@$$ like some of those other dudes. and i vividly remember the recent epmd/clipse thread. WHY DIDNT HE MENTION ANY OF EPMD's SOLO SINGLES OR DEF SQUAD SINGLES IN EPMD'S FAVOR?:popcorn:

and yea, i wanna see what they have to say about that hot boys chit. how are they gonna spin rza's little movies and all that other relevant chit when theyre forced to compare it to lil wayne's celebrity?

You can think what you want about me. But I'm not considering your opinion on this at all because I generally don't rely on the opinions of people under ten.

Yeah, Bone and Wu were the most popular from like 1994-1998, but it's not like OutKast wasn't going platinum or didn't have hits themselves. By 2000, OutKast surpassed both Bone and Wu Tang's popularity, and in 2003, their plateau was higher than what Bone or Wu Tang ever achieved. These are facts.

I'm not even saying this to shyt on Bone. Bone is my favorite group. E. 1999 is a top 5 album of mine. I slept on OutKast as a kid. I was a casual listener of theirs, but after coppin their greatest hits release in 2001, it motivated me to check out what I had been missing. They definitely belong in the discussion, and based off critical acclaim, success and longevity, one has to consider them the greatest rap group of all time.

And I wouldn't say they went pop. To me, going pop is copying the status quo. OutKast always went in a different lane than everyone else. Bone my nikkas, but what the hell were they doing collabing with 3LW and Bow Wow? And that last album they dropped, those poppy ass beats!

Post something culturally relevant from Bone that came out in the last 10 years.

what type of peanut-butter & jelly chit is this?

why dont YOU post something culturally relevant from wutang in the past 10 years.

i could at least post semi-relevant stuff from bone in the past 6 years. you cant even do that for wutang.

you drunk?

I could go on and on. BONE don't have that. They never did. They should have that, but their fans aren't as die hard. BONE got fans that buy the music, but don't really fukk with them like that. Wu got fans that get Wu tattoos on their face and shyt.

this isnt good.

this is why wutang fans get a bad rep.

middle school? bone had hits in 2004-5?:upsetfavre:

try 2006-2007

Raekwon dropped OBFCL2 in 2009. That was a bigger event for hip hop then anything Bone has done since 1997.

Nobody argued Bone vs Wu in the 90s. It's a silly argument because they are apples and oranges. It's silly to debate it now.

lol @ ob4cl2 being an event. only on the internet.

that chit didnt even exist in the outside world. you guys are funny.

lol @ bone/wu never being an argument. youre bordering "garbage poster" territory. be careful with yourself.

That would make sense if the entire world didnt completely disagree. BIG owns notorious thugs. People will sing his verse word for word for years on end and then remain quiet and confused when Bone start their inaudible parts.

Da Rockwilder & How High both have Meth's stank all over them and nobody cares about that SWV song.

But to bring the goal post back into view, you can always refer to my 7 Wu Tang Clan group hits. 7. Lucky number 7.

big's verse was simpler and easier to recite. i guess wish bone is the best member of the group right?

lol @ nobody cares about the SWV song.......but they care about rockwilder?:laff:

method man & redman is a seperate group.

if we're talking about songs with "stank" on it, then we could easily include a strong amount of bone collabs that were bigger and/or better than that song.

that song came out close to 2 years after the fact.

:why:

Wu sold more records than SWV. Even if you cut "Forever" sales in half. Even if you don't count the solo albums. SWV wasn't doing "Thriller" numbers breh. Their entire run they sold around 3 mill according to RIAA.

Fred.

are we really comparing them to an r&b group now?

yall really in here trying to toss SWV under the bus?

and none of this has anything to do with anything. the bottom line is that SWV gave them a boost and got them on daytime radio when their album wasnt selling chit.

and for the record, SWV sold way more than 3 millie. theyre one of the top selling american female groups of all-time. and its not even about sales. and you cant compare r&b sales to rap and pop sales. thats crazy

oh and:
SWV >>>> WUTANG
since yall want to take it there

If its a matter of mimicking Bone's style, I agree - he couldn't do it like they did. Lyrically is where I'm losing you.

bizzy shut biggie down lyrically as well.

you can make a case for krayzie too.

You can think what you want about me. But I'm not considering your opinion on this at all because I generally don't rely on the opinions of people under ten.

then we see eye to eye, because i never take anything seriously that comes off of your keyboard.

the difference between you & me is that you just listen to hip-hop. i live it.

there were other groups that outkast trailed in popularity before they could even be compared to bone & wu.

and yes, by 2000, they were making music for office negroes & soccer moms. and even with the sales they were raking in, they still didnt have the status of bone & wu in 2000. not with that wack @$$ stankonia album. you cant be serious. wasnt nobody checking for them on that level.

the whole idea that outkast should be mentioned in this convo is revisionist thinking. and thats just something that im not willing to entertain in here. no offense.

as for bone. that 3lw song was forced on them by the label. bizzy even spoke out about it in a classic interview. and nobody is defending uni-5, which came out a decade after the fact anyway. besides, the label chose those uni-5 tracks. u-neek was playing alot of the unreleased beats for it on youtubes. as for bow wow, hes ohio bretheren, and they always had ties to so so def.

Getting back to topic, I will say this though. Wu Tang vs Bone never made sense to me in terms of popularity. Bone was a top 4 rap act in the 90s. Only 2pac, Snoop, and Biggie (because of the whole King of NY shyt) should have even been mentioned in the same sentence as them.
