Getting back to topic, I will say this though. Wu Tang vs Bone never made sense to me in terms of popularity. Bone was a top 4 rap act in the 90s. Only 2pac, Snoop, and Biggie (because of the whole King of NY shyt) should have even been mentioned in the same sentence as them.
cant argue with that.
Eat a dikk. You got multiple aliases online posting rambling, nonsensical shyt 24/7. Get a life fakkit.
not that it matters, but youre on here more than me buddy.
so if im supposedly on here 24/7, what does that say about you?
and to make matters worst, youre constantly running around this board, cheerleading for a group that doesnt know or care about your existence. its just not healthy.
7 am hummina hummina him caffeine and nicotein....SENTIMENTALLY SCREAM
that's what Bizzy's schrill voice sounds like to me on notorious thugs.
also, i was in a clipse/epmd thread? and youre in need of epmd singles?
New Edition > Bone Thugs
yes you were the star of that epmd/clipse thread.
am i supposed to get mad over the new edition comment?
I can't take you seriously if you don't realize that OBFCL2 was THE album of 2009.
I know you were only 8 at the time, but whoever told you the Wu blew up bc of SWV lied to you. Cream was already a hit at that point (hell - it's briefly sampled in Anything). I'm sure the SWV record helped - but the Wu blew up bc of Cream which was already a hit.
lol at ob4cl2 being THE album of 2009. log off and go outside buddy. PLEASE.
i didnt say wu blew up because of SWV. i said, they gave them a boost. and those songs came out at the same time homie.
You lived it huh? As an 8 year old? You are delusional.
no im not delusional. youre just not hood and you certainly arent hip-hop. so you could never understand.
the funny thing is, i can tell that i already knew more about hip-hop back in those days than you know now. i would seriously fallback if i was you.
and for the record i was 9 & coming out of 4th grade when cream & anything hit radio. i know youre probably not black, but by 4th grade, most of the more astute kids are already off-the-porch & heavy into hip-hop, and i was around alot of older people on top of that. not to mention that i was coppin tapes before 36 chambers even dropped.
Obviously the faster you rap (or even just talk for that matter) the more careful you have to be to make sure what you are rapping is intelligible. To me, Bone crosses the line where style trumps substance. Like I said - with Bone, how it's said it's more important than what is actually said.
Like I said at the beginning - I don't want to speak on comparing the music because I'm not a fan of Bone and I never paid any attention to the music beyond their singles. Like I said - I'm not in a position to judge Bone vs anyone. But I can give my perspective on their legacy as well as the Wu's legacy.
Let me give you an example. I never liked the fugees. I thought they were corny and blew up off an R&B song. I've never heard the Score all the way through or Lauryn's solo. But as a lifelong hip hop fan I have to admit that the general consensus is that both albums are classics and Lauryn was an elite mc. The general consensus, as I see it, makes no such provision for Bone.
no. YOU just cant understand what theyre saying. but then again, you have trouble understanding documented message board dialogs. and to top it off, you barely even heard any of thei rmusic to make such a statement.
stuff like this is why youre not to be taken seriously.
that and your whole "WHERE'S WALDO??" posting style. youre like a lost fish swimming with sharks in darn near every thread i see you in.
word, was just sayin, rest of this thread is pure
*listens to hot 97 spin notrious thugs for the millionth time
*listens to hot 9 cut it off after biggies verse the 999,997th time
this is the blatant bias that we're talking about.
youre conditioned to spew the stuff that you say. and you dont even know it.
wake up good brother!!
I actually used to interpret Bone songs to my crew. Bizzy included. It's not hard to get if you choose to try. I stopped caring by 1997.
youre killing your own argument.
i already know that you know better than alot of the stuff that youre saying in here tho. but now youre admitting it to the world.
to anybody that says bone thugs is better than wu tang. have you ever took the time to read the lyrics of bone thugs n harmony?
for real, they are NOT saying anything complex. it's actually very simple. their flow and style pretty much is what makes them good, NOT their lyrics. i remember back in 2006, i was reading the lyrics from their first album and i was like "what type of wack shyt is this?" their lyrics were so fukking simple that i was like wow. it sounds so nice when they rap it but reading it made me feel really silly. a kid can write that shyt.
wu tang is far superior as a group.
those lyrics were hot. and those were just str8 gangsta lyrics.
why dont you try reading lyrics from art of war, ressurrection or heavenz movie?
step it up buddy.
this right here is just another walk in the ballpark:

16? try 22. double cds were exspensive as fukk in those days. the only cheap double albums i ever seen were in 2000s era, dipset/outkast
i remember spending 25-30 duckets on "art of war" & "life after death"......and i copped them from a mom-n-pop store that had the best prices.
props to master p for bringing in that "2 cds for the price of 1" ish when he dropped "da last don". chit had the 3d cover and the whole 9.
