Buddy made a thread lamenting the fact that DC couldn't get an EU off the ground. Objectively speaking, it is sad. I already explained why. DC's characters are (or were) infinitely more popular than 99.99% of the MCU.

If "let's examine why Marvel went bankrupt in 1996" was a thread....and people responded with "but let's discuss what Marvel is doing now!"....go make that thread and watch me tell people the same thing.

DC, Marvel, whatever....coming into a thread with 133 replies and trying to change what the thread is actually about is crazy to me. You could just....I dunno, not come in the thread?

So lets examine a couple things. if the title of the thread is face value and we believe that OP simply wants to discuss something from years past.. then how would Marvel run laps around something that no longer exists?

Probably because OP meant DC as a whole.. i.e. currently.. so that's where the argument comes to current DC and there's a lot of posts here about current DC that seemed to have you and others upset.. is that a fair question.. ? i believe it is...

I haven't read a comic in over 30 years, that's completely irrelevant.

The source material is interconnected, that has nothing to do with what you or I prefer.

I could maybe understand this logic if DC was intent from day 1 doing standalone movies....but DC tried to make it interconnected, and failed.

Retroactively saying "well....who cares?!" is silly. DC obviously cared, otherwise they wouldn't have tried.

No doubt they failed and quite frankly I'm happy they did, they're much better off going the standalone route from a viewer perspective

I have a passing interest in DC and Marvel. I have literally ZERO posts in most of the recent comic book movie/series threads because I haven't seen "The Batman", "Shazam", "The Suicide Squad", the Snyder cut, "Thor: Love & Thunder", "The Eternals", "WW84", "Hawkeye", "Ms. Marvel", "Moon Knight", etc.
But yeah, let me come into The Film Room and dap fish about shyt I haven't cared enough to check out, or post about. You got it.

Someone made this long ass meme pretending like people are hype for all of Marvel's b level heroes. The only thing the general public cared about was BP2. We not gonna be in here pretending like folks are looking forward to a She Hulk series or a Chris Evansless Cap America after that mediocre D+ series or a Thunderbolts anything or any Avengers movie without RDJ and Evans.

Shazam and Black Adam are gonna make more money than everything on Marvel's list outside of Wakanda Forever.....and if I'm being honest I like that the DC movies ain't all interconnected to some mysterious big bad in the background. They should only reserve that for Justice League movies and leave the individual movies alone.
