Are you an American? Don't show your flag and don't make yourself known as an American. Ignore these dumbasses calling Indians from India racist, ya like you fukks would really know, they don't "particularly hate blacks"(indians hate just about everyone, including other indians), but you might get some trouble for being American as most foreign countries aren't fans of them and when I've gone over there I heard some rude opinions about Americans. Just saying breh.
I have co-workers from India. He goes back time-to-time to visit family. Since they are IT folks, they are middle-class and their lifestyle is the same in India. The cities are modernized. They have cars, money, modern electronic appliances, fancy homes and they all poop in toilets with running water. It is a majority Hindu country and it will be hard to find beef to eat. They have Burger King and Taco Bell but all beef is replaced with chicken. And yeah, it's all high-calorie and they got a side of fries if you need more calories in your side dish. 
There are homeless and poor people in America. It seems to be less of a travesty as there are options like half-way houses and shelters and soup kitchens. If you showed one photo of a homeless community and told a foreigner, "This is America". Everything you see on TV and movies is fake. And then, when that foreigner touches down in the airport, you can take them to Manhattan but go to a home-made camp under a bridge. And say, "See, I told you this is America. The homeless folks smell like body odor and urine." That foreigner is going to be like, "But what about all those pictures of the Upper West Side and Central Park?" You can just say, "Models, they are posing in buildings in Europe and Australia. Central Park photos were taken in Canada." He's going to be like, "Let's go into the city. We are out here under a bridge next to a highway." You can drive him to Chinatown. But park near a garbage dumpster of a restaurant. "See, it smells like garbage. Rotten fish that has been cooking in the sunny heat. This is America."
You can control what that foreigner sees, but that's not America. That's not all of NYC. And so, it is the same with India.

Dont know since I obviously have the money to sleep in a nice hotel and go sight seeing, the fukk I look like chillin in a slum? 
It's definitely the worst living conditions out of all the BRIC... Obviously if you just stay in a resort than things will be different.
I've even had Indians tell me to be wary of the water and pay attention to where and how your food is prepared
Two tourist monuments and two resort pictures... What about the rest of the time?
I wouldn't drink water from any country you are not native too nor eat their meat unless it is kosher/halal, and even then that's a stretch.

personally I dont do resorts, I typically go to 4 star hotels, find destinations online and pay a cabby.
again, when, within this transaction, will I be in a slum? driving by maybe, but when else?
when folks come to LA are they hitting up watts? No! they're hitting up hollywood, the beach etc. when I go to vegas Im not chillin in some wack ass desert town, Im on the strip. neither of these are resorts, its called sight seeing.

ya the ganges. peep the 2nd link someone posted on the first or second page. they bathe in that river yards away from floating human corpses and floating cow corpses. there were a few pics of stray dogs eating the corpses
