Around what year did you stop listening to "New" rap regularly?

Much respect to you young blood:salute: For someone born 19 years ago what made you gravitate towards older Hip Hop and R&B from 70's-90's?

I listened to good kid m.A.A.d city in 2013, which led me to Pac. And Pac spoke to me more than on some music stuff

So I started off listening to like Pac, Dre, Snoop, BIG, Nas an Wu an then I just kept listening to more and more. Goin back and listening to Classics

And my mom always played 90s R&B and Lauryn Hill so I had heard so many of it growing up and I rocked with it

Cuz the main stuff that I grew up hearing was Crunk, Ringtone rap, all them dance songs an whatever.

The music I started get into, that Crunk, Ringtone rap stuff don’t even compare

Great music is timeless, so hearing all of it just makes me dig deeper, James Brown probably the older artist I listen to music from

I was an enthusiast knowing everything until about 2012-13.

Never stopped listening to new music but as a fan of raps me not listening to singing, melody shyt doesn't mean I don't like rap anymore.

For me it's gotta be last year (2018). Just awful as far as drops but I still check out stuff from time to time but I can feel myself slipping a bit due to all the weak releases I've been subjected to. Hopefully it picks up in the latter part of this year.

Somewhere in the last 3 years I just checked out of actively listening to music. I used to be serious about collecting music, but if I'm being honest sometime around 2011-2012 I slowed up on that

Big artists doing releases I'll check for, but shyt is so disposable now I could care less

I'm not into it deep like I used to be but I try to keep current at least. Like others have said I don't want to be one of those stuck in the 90s dudes. It's still the goat era make no mistake about it but sometimes you need to hear something fresh.
