1) No u wouldn't. Not with me. My Army rank is E 8. U would never. No stranger does that in reality so I know for a fact u wouldnt be the 1st.

2) You make an excellent point...But I still stand by what I said. I'll flip it another way. U cant be a WWE head if all u know is the heyday of the 80's and 90's. It dont work like that focused on the higlight era of Hulk Hogan, Roddy Pipper, Brett Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin but u are unfamiliar with "The Modern Day Maharaja. No. U gotta stil watch Monday night Raw. U gotta be up to date. That was the conversation during that Goodz vs Cassidy battle. U had the real headz who been on that day one shyt with Battle Rap then u had the "Johny Come Lately s" who only were interested in the hype because of Cassidy but hadnt really watched a battle rap match since Mook and Iron Solomon. The Johnny Come Latelys represent these old heads u are refering to who know who Cardi B is but dont know 38 Spesh. And I honestly believe u and the others who co signed u just got aggy because I was saying u arent really into it like a fanatic or a real hip hop head is.....But I have to call it like I see it because I'm 40 and I stay digging because I'm a hip hop head (like a crack head who cant quit)Some of those names who dapped and co signed u I never even see in the Booth which proves my point.

And for the bolded....I dont know why u asked that question. U are the one who was speaking for 40 and 50 year olds correct? Well the only ones who aren't checking for new shyt the way u described are the old heads who always go "I dont fukk with this new music...back in my day...blah blah blah".....Thats me responding to how u presented the statement.

1) Yes tf I would, and I have. Granted, I'm not gonna say this to a complete stranger. But we really ain't "strangers" on here. I'm sure we're @ least somewhat familiar w/ each other on this platform. Don't front, we've dapped the shyt out of each other's posts, expounded on each other's quotes, and so forth. But that's neither here or there.

2) You do bring up a very good point, but I think you can be in a sense. Like for instance. I haven't watched Raw in years but I still know who Chris Masters was or who Shinsuke Nakamura is. I might know what goes ond to day but I was a fanatic @ one point, and know what wwe is @ it's core. And I understand culture so Im probably not gonna know who any new guys are, but I know a bad sell when I see it. See, I think if a significant your life (music) resides w/in that culture (hip-hop), you have a sense on what the core elements are, understand them and somewhat keep up to date, you can still call your self a "head". For instance, I don't really check for new music, read music blogs, or even give any f's about whos the "best" anymore (which is a bit dumb, but that's neither here or there) but I still know all those guys you named(I got 38 strategies of Raw in my library) but that's not because I checked for that nikka. I just happened to see Benny post his album on IG. But that's because I know what rap is when I hear it, and I understand the culture. But I definitely agree w/ the bolded in most cases, but you have to understand this shyt encompasses more than just the music, it's a whole culture you have to take into account. So it's going to be around us, we're still going to pick up some of the intricacies of the current day (beefs, who got robbed, etc, new freestyles etc) especially now in the digital age where the algorithms will damn near find everything you never even knew you needed.

3)Im saying, I'm not complaining. I'm just simply stating that it's not my wave to be in it that thick anymore. I'm not an angry old head, but I'm not really tryna spend time DITC, or tryna find who's new, I'll let that shyt come to me or I'll search it if I hear it and like it

I don’t really listen to nothing but instrumentals/lo fi hip hop

I listen to new rap here and there but I don’t really like the music I grew up on.
It’s to violent and demonic for my righteous spirit to stay in tac:scust:

You sure can if you are a fan of hiphop

The guys you named don’t rap like the rappers of the gen prior to them

I don’t understand why 90s east coast bias lends itself to such stale and cliche opinions on rap

I’m so glad I didn’t grow up on that music. People from the other regions have regions and era have such a better view and understanding of the culture

Because as an eastcoast breh, we weigh lyricism a bit more....there is no contest when it comes to lyrical quality being superior in the 90s in comparison to syrup/lean/rarri rap era...

1) I'll just chalk it up as normal online back and forth jargon.

2 & 3)

Now Let me say this...I been saying this for a minute.....Digging is the only way an old head is gonna still be interested in this current era of hip hop. And I done came across a lot of quality shyt that I like that is not mainstream. Had I depended on it just coming to me like u said...Man, I'd be missing out. Some of the non trap beats from this decade are just straight piff. Some of the trap beats are straight piff. I came across music that was piff with less then 1000 views on Youtube. And some of this mumble shyt I actually like too. My 38 year old ass was bumping that Tay K song "Race" when it was popping. The young bul I buy my smoke from was playing 21 Savage and J Cole " A Lot" and I was rhyming along word for word and he was like "What u know about that?" I said "Dude...I fukk with hip hop. "Future, Cheif Keef, Lil B, Designer, Lil Uzi....All have songs I like...

But this era also has that throwback type shyt but u gotta dig. My boy who's over 30 put me onto this cat AFRO....this shyt right here sounds like some 1993 shyt.

The poster who said I should only listen to my generation is a troll.....These youngins right here make that music that has more of a universal hip hop vibe that can relate to someone my age.

Here's one more...Now as a old head..this is the type of young rapper u wanna see come up. Anyone raised on 90s NYC hip hop would be proud of this and co sign it. Again, that troll who said I shouldnt be up on music like this was dead wrong. This is what a hip hop head fux with.

I didnt even go into the numerous beatmakers on Youtube and soundcloud. Give this a listen. Tell me this doesn't bang. Posted since 2013 but only has 10K views. This is the type of hidden gems I'm refering to

On the flip side.....This trap beat is under 2k views but its so sick it feels like a crime that a popular rapper hasnt jumped on it

In conclusion....An old head like myself has to dig in order to stay interested because I found out digging is were the juelz are. Digging is actually fun. Digging is the new version of going thru the Isles in the music shop. Yeah u gotta sidestep a lot of bullshyt because the wack shyt is there too but hey thats nothing new in music, period. And yes, most my age dont dig but thats just me chalking it up to cats not really being hip hop heads because these old head cant point the finger and complain about whats in mainstream when quality music exists if u just dig. I say this to the cats in my age range all the time..But like u said, and I agree most my age dont dig...But they should if they wanna stay interested like I am.

Bro these nikkas just don’t like hip hop. Some people are saying as early as 2000-5. I know we don’t agree on everything, but this is spot on. What do you think is the worst era of hip hop? I’d say the mid 2000s
Worst era of rap was the ring tone. That shyt was HOT GARBAGE.

If mfers could stand that era I don't get how they done with the trap era, we've gotten some beautiful ass compositions like March madness, Aston Martin music, and middle of the summer

These dudes is frauds riding on the coat tails of nostalgia :camby:

Y'all really expect for us to go from the greats like Nas, Pun, DMX etc, with some excellent production, and be happy with this simpleminded shyt we currently got?

:stopitslime:

i was just thinking the other day listening to people like kendrick, boogie.... its so unfortunate they grew up how they did (but still cool because they became great artists still), otherwise they could be like legit lawyers, writers the way they twist words and concepts. maybe its just the subject matter you don't like cuz these dudes are far from simpleminded.

then the complaint you hear on the young side is "they do too much smart shyt" or "damn why do i need a dictionary to listen to these guys" :skip:

To be honest, I'd go off an on, but I'd usually listen to a few select artists but over time these select artists got bad eventually I lost the patience to tune into new shyt. I stopped from 2007 to 2010 and officially in 2014. I tuned in casually to a select few between 2011-2013.

I say around 2011-2012 I stopped checking for new hip hop consistently. If something catches my ear or someone recommends something, I will give it a listen. @iBrowse put me on to some new music today.

Last full album I fukked with qas Dark Sky Paradise...

Kanye exec produced it and the use of samples...

But yea we need more funky shyt...

Getting tired of this trap soul, fully quantized trap sound with the same hihat patterns and 808 basslines :russell:

I Hate 808's with a passion due to the overuse in these past years, them shyts have been used more than a public toilet/restroom
