1) The e thugging is unnecessary. U would never EVER in your life start a convo in real life with me like that. I didnt disrespect you so the up front disrespect was totally unwarranted..check yourself.

2) This is an old discussion... Most people whatever age aren't really into music like the fanatics. Most people aren't crate diggers like the fanatics. Most people dont go into the science of music like the fanatics. So you are refering to the average person...You not refering to a real hip hop head at all. Real hip hop heads have 38 Spesh, Rapsody, Stro, Cyhi The Prince, Pro Era, Don Q, Griselda, Mozzy, Nick Grant, Logic, Sky Anikan and Concept Jackson, Villian Park, Young MA, Underacheivers, Roc Marciano, Keen Streetz, J Cole, Dee savv , Danny Brown Envy caine, Sa roc, Meek Mills, Nipsey Hussle, Saigon Selma Slim, Royce Da 5'9, C Struggs....And I can go on and on. So if an old head isn't getting the Hip Hop he wants, its because he's not digging. We not in the 80's 90's, 2000's era no more were radio, MTV and BET gave us our hip hop on a mainstream level. There's too much music now and technology has changed the guards. Its on those old heads to either keep up or get left behind. I'm not complaining because I keep up.

Also....there is no way a 40 to 50 year old can avoid listening to whats current because they might have kids...and those kids will play the current shyt around them. They might not get fully into but if they have kids, they gonna have a foundation. When the BBQ breaks out they play old and new..Thats the tradition. I went to my lil cousins birthday party...She had Drakes Scorpion playing. The elders were bopping their heads to "Keke...do u love me."
1) Ain't no e-thuggin over here. I'm 100 w/ this Breh. And, Yes. I would start off a convo like that. Ive done it in the past, OMM. And that's ur fault if you took it as disrespect. If u can't detect that I wasn't 100% serious w/ that then:yeshrug:

2) You got a point in a sense, but you still provin MY point. shyt, I'ma hip hop head, but I don't check for the new shyt all the time. I was raised in the culture and I respect it. Youre gonna have way more younger ppl check-in for new rap instead of old heads. After a certain age in most cases. The only ppl who still do that after a certain age either have an occupation that deals w/ music, or youth culture or they are like you said, a fanatic. And of course theres no way that old heads could avoid hearing new shyt, but they're not actively looking for it. No one said that us who stop check-in for new shyt just love in a bubble, we just are indifferent about what's current. Thus kinda proving my point again.

And for the bolded...who's complaining?

And you think mainstream rap today is on par with rap from the 90's?

:ohhh:
I have my favorite artist but I don’t listen to music trying to compare it. I just enjoy what artist bring to the table

I’m not listening to Gunna and comparing him to TI.

I think everything sounds better than 90s east coast rap

Mainly No limit and CmR in the 90s is better than all of that

They only perfected things to fans that endear themselves to that era of music
Well what era are you a fan of ?

Also I see you've said you're more of a fan of that No Limit /Cash money style compared to East Coast, like I said in my first post I ain't no elitist hating because I know people from different coasts / regions are gonna be more interested in their own sound & style compared to others, it's understandable:yeshrug:.

I remember 2004 was the last year I was still regularly going to record stores copping new release albums...of course there’s been a few hard copy purchases since then but that’s mostly been Nas, AZ, Scarface.

When I was in high school summer of 97 working 60 hour weeks, I was at Best Buy every week making all kinds of purchases. Amazing how much quality hip hop there used to be :mjcry:

nikkas expect 40 and 50 year olds to be bumping some teenager's music in their whip.:mjlol:

Very weird comment here. I'm 40 and I listen to the current shyt. So tell me. What am I supposed to be listening to? Gospel?

If u wasn't trying to be a comedian u would see that what u just said doesnt apply to R&B..these are the current artists in R&B who i listen to:

justine skye , Melanie Fiona, syd the kid , joyce wrice , Serayah, HER, sonyah elise Sabrina Claudio, Kali Uchis , Sza, kilo kish, dayo band/doner, brent fiyaz, smino, Sinead Harnett, Kyle, Leven, Lucky Daye, Arin Ray, Vanjes), Jayla Darden,Elujay,Pink Sweats, Asiahn, xavier omar, kiana lede, eric roberson, yuna,Azealia Banks daniel ceaser and Melissa B

All from this era ( Well Melanie was late 2000's)...Most of these artist are young but the music is good. According to you...I'm not even supposed to be into these artists because they rep the now generation..But that makes absolutly no sense at all.

Also known as the end of Classic Hip Hop

To me everything after that is Contemporary Rap. Kinda like the diff between Classic R and B and what came after

Its really different genres so I'm good. Classic Hip Hop is complete and there's plenty of it for me to listen to. No need for new stuff of questionable quality

This is exactly why I keep a SiriusXM subscription. I can hear all the shyt they don’t play on normal radio plus all the new shyt from older artists
