We got covering ourselves with tattoos from them, especially the gang style tats with the gothic cursive
I can't speak on completely being covered in tats, but the old English lettering was just something that was trendy in the 90s Mexicans didn't make that popular.

na.....IMO, Allen Iverson (Rodman had tats but urban culture wasn't influenced by him) is the reason for the explosion of tats all over the body amongst black people...he's a Upper South/East Coast head w/o any connections/influences to the West Coast/Chicano culture. NBA players were the first "blacks" I remember having tats all over every visible part of the body and w/o doubt, Iverson was the cause of that.

from there, it spread to the general black population/other popular acts such as rappers. None of this was connected to Chicano culture.

Polynesians were the ones who popularized full body tats in the USA though; although, theirs was tribal tats

Low Rider culture is not even from Mexicans. Low Riding is from the hot rodding culture of the 1950's and 1960's in the United States.
