two people can experience the same things and come out of those experiences having completely different mentalities..one can come out being objective, understanding and empathetic, contextual and critical of a system and thing that has created the struggle and barriers for many. while the other can use it as fuel for internalized self hate and turn into the boyz in black cop. being a minority who experience things that a white person hasn’t or anyone else hasn’t doesn’t automatically make you a good person or a person who is empathetic to your own and advocating policies that help POC specifically black people.

She's being forced to step down because she pissed off a lot of women. Not black people, not Asians, not Hispanics; women. This is about gender and how it relates to Apple's business.

Women makeup about half of all Apple product owners. iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple TV, you name it. When your diversity chief is on record saying what sounds like "You don't need women in the workplace", that's a liability. Especially in a time where #METOO is being discussed globally. It doesn't matter if the diversity chief is a woman. The headlines all showed up like "Apple's chief of diversity just said some sh*t", which is a bad look for Apple.

Anyways, the hiring and employment practices of these companies won't change because there isn't a business reason to change them. The overwhelming majority of Apple customers can't name 5 Apple employees. We all know the last CEO, the mysterious design guy, the nikka with the gray hair, and that's about it. So Apple has no reason to change the corporate workforce of their company. They will only change when their money is being f*cked up specifically due to their headquarters makeup.

You ever notice how once companies fast track more white women and gay males with a sprinkling of black women here and there, the 'diversity quota' is met? All of these tech companies are liberal, but yet they have some of the lowest employment rates of minorities, especially black males around and yet the liberals aren't screaming to fill their ranks with more black men, even though their representation is significantly lower than even white women.
