This is what a lot of these self righteous blowhards on twitter and youtube don't understand. I consider myself a leftist/progressive as well but I pay attention to how people think and feel outside of lefty echo chambers online.

The sad truth is we may not have a choice but to do things via incrementalism/compromise/piece meal until we get our numbers up. I'm all for M4ALL but I could happily settle for now with some form of public option.

:manny:
Your fellow Dems don't even want that. They are just paying lip service to a public option because they know M4A is popular.

Benjamin Dixon at 1:13:00 goes in on Jimmy

These guys are playing themselves. This 'withold the vote' initiative kinda checkmated all his detractors. They have not done anything like that politically that gained any traction. Paying him all this lip service and criticizing him is giving him more light.
This is like Trump in the Republican primary. They would be better off ignoring him, instead they are just elevating him.

I actually watched this and had to stop because Benjamin Dixon think Jimmy wants to fight him?! :mjlol:
What in God's name is this guy talking about, " You know where to find me?!" Dude, Jimmy hasn't mentioned you I doubt he is thinking about you in anyway.
And by Sam's apologies he is backing off the Jimmy idea now. lol

Progressives are a minority in their own party. We don't have the kind of leverage that you think we do. The ideas are popular, but I don't think even Dem party voters have the appetite to implement those ideas. :yeshrug:

The actual reliable voters don't want to upset the current order. They are in their 40s, 50s and 60s. At different levels, they are established in their careers, they've paid off a good portion of their mortgage, have built wealth with retirement accounts and have have healthcare with employer or medicare.
The age range that is hold us back is even older than that. Gen X is the 40-55 age range and they generally support progressive ideas. When you look at the actual polling, the only age range that opposes most of the populist policies is the 55+ group.

Progressives need to start understanding the perspective of others in the party and not start labeling people sell outs or neo-liberals because they disagree on policy issues.

It's funny how someone like Jimmy Dore pretends like a freshman congresswomen like AOC can changed the entire landscape of national healthcare when three presidents (Truman, Clinton and Obama) all tried and came up short. Medicare for all has been proposed for almost 50 years, it's hard to implement because overturning a multi trillion dollar industry is hard.

This was in October and we're now here :patrice:

100 but watch how Tim Pool types do it. First they say their side is too extreme then they abandon every single liberal idea they've held for years.
