Now we aren’t allowed to push people we elected to fight against establishment dems? It only took two years for the squad to get co opted ? Lmao progressives are a mess and will never get anywhere . Don’t worry maybe in 20 years we will have the votes for m4a when we’re all dead due to climate change . I love too how they talk “ oh we’re organizing for the senate” but for what exactly ? Both the dems aren’t for progressive policy. Waste of time, I don’t like dore i think he’s dumb but at least he has political will , I wish a smarter one would step up but they’re all pussies worried about their career, it seems to me a lot of these progressives are just the new slightly more progressive class of political consultant /politicians , they think cause now they have a seat at the table it’s all good but who are they if they’re not representing the people? That’s why they all Schilled so hard and uncritically for Biden , they’re all sell outs and co opted

Progressives are a minority in their own party. We don't have the kind of leverage that you think we do. The ideas are popular, but I don't think even Dem party voters have the appetite to implement those ideas. :yeshrug:

The actual reliable voters don't want to upset the current order. They are in their 40s, 50s and 60s. At different levels, they are established in their careers, they've paid off a good portion of their mortgage, have built wealth with retirement accounts and have have healthcare with employer or medicare.

Progressives need to start understanding the perspective of others in the party and not start labeling people sell outs or neo-liberals because they disagree on policy issues.

This is what a lot of these self righteous blowhards on twitter and youtube don't understand. I consider myself a leftist/progressive as well but I pay attention to how people think and feel outside of lefty echo chambers online.

The sad truth is we may not have a choice but to do things via incrementalism/compromise/piece meal until we get our numbers up. I'm all for M4ALL but I could happily settle for now with some form of public option.
