Yas need to go ahead and get a job at LVMH or open an art gallery.

That's her lane :hubie:
This is the exact type who is supposed to get into fashion.

And I say that as someone who was OBSESSED with fashion as a kid. Girls with connections who don’t need the money are the main ones at the fashion magazines, working for the fashion houses, etc.

Motives I don't think are always pure. You can have pure friendships, with less pure motives or actions within that friendship or relationship dynamic. If I am aware enough to know the benefit of an action, is it impure? Not to me. but I agree with what you are saying, she knew. but also, she played that as close as possible, she didn't talk about it with anyone. She didn't threaten blackmail. She didn't as far as we know seek special treatments from Yasmin. She just backed her friend up and cleaned up the mess.

but like you said, what the show excels in, is just showing these people as human as possible. It doesn't stack the deck for one character to be good, and another bad. That fight at the end was painful. I don't see a right and wrong, I see two complicated people.

also, the show is probably softly nodding to class/socioeconomic tension, in how we perceive things. Harper has the lower status chip on her shoulder, it colors her worldview, I relate to that some level too. Yasmin has the elites worldview, and values things like friendship and loyalty, because the rest is (or was) all taken care of. Her world is secure. People like Harper are out of blood, because they see how cold the world is.

I agree about the class struggle but I also think for Harper there's this level of competition and disdain for not only the upper class but people who simply lived normal, non-broken lives. Part of the reason she got along with Jesse Bloom so much in S2 was because he was also an outsider who happened to surpass his more traditional/status quo peers. It's like a game to out perform the people who started the race miles ahead of you, basically. But the problem is that most of the people in that space with similar sentiments - from Eric to Bloom to Rishi etc - all have some type of home base. She doesn't have that so there really is no separation between work and home. It's all the same battlefield for her, which means everyone can be a casualty in order to get her where she needs to go.

I think that's a major reason Eric cut her loose. He was clearly very impressed with her drive, ambition, talent, willingness to go for the kill. But at the end of the day Eric was going home to his family, hanging out with old college buddies etc. There's that barrier that's missing.

She's super exposed right now btw. If Petra cuts her loose what does she do? Sure, Henry's uncles seem like they'd have a role for her. But how stable is that. You can def imagine a scenario where she is completely ass out.

I’M CALLING IT NOW- Petra aint letting that shyt go. If she doesn’t cause it, she is going to at least be part of Harper’s downfall.
I was listening to the watch earlier and they pointed out that Harper’s misstep led directly to Yas being thrown under the bus. She lost all her credibility and standing when she accused her of rehab and had to go with whatever plan Petra felt was the best.

It’s such a specific curveball to the story (meeting the guy in the park, the mention of rehab, etc), I imagine there has to be a follow-up/resolution and it’s not gonna be pretty for Harper.

He was one of the first ones, the first, to see Henry clearly. That was a great scene. Yasmin was out of her depth again lol

but he said you can have all them back. and James was like done. I always wanted to be wrong about you Henry.

That said, I wanna fukk Harper and Yasmin :francis:

The emotional turmoil and terror of this episode. The banging on the door that starts it. That viscerally sickening argument between Charles and Yas, and ending with Harper and Yas. "you're still hard". enough that when I came in her mouth it was like a bull . Those shots of the sunset and the yacht. That mindless kind of EDM music playing with that chaotic fight and the stunning background. what a scene. The green industry over the yacht sailing away.

the way you look at me

Didn't know Nikki Beach was like a international Nobu type of thing, these girls I know always talking about Nikki Beach Miami but that's the only one I know. it's probably my intense attraction to those types but Yasmin isn't talentless and isn't that dumb. And conversely, Harper isn't some souless sociopath. If you been around real money guys, they are all ruthless in their own way. and Harper always stood up for Yasmin. That's how they connected.

"he was feeding me cocaine and talking to me like I'm one of those link in bio girls"

going to cover the Eric Yas scene later.
The "see and be seen" thot circuit down here is Nikki Beach, Soho House, Liv, and random Brickell condo rooftop rager
