Talk about Morpheus for a second.

People think of him like a side character, the OG who starts things rolling. But in reality he's truly the one at the center of everything. Literally everyone who ever goes to the oracle does it because Morpheus told them to go. Everyone who gains faith does it because Morpheus convinced them to have faith. It's not just within the Matrix that everyone revolves around Morpheus, but up in the physical world the biggest controversies, biggest decisions, they're all in an orbit around Morpheus too, even though he technically doesn't seem to be the most powerful one. But the whole city swings on whether people join with Morpheus or not. Morpheus is the one who singlehandedly takes on Agent Smith to save the entire team, and on top of that Morpheus is the only human to ever be captured by the computers in the Matrix and survive. All the other humans are just offed right away, but Morpheus is captured, beaten, tortured, refuses to break, and then escapes.

Neo is the most powerful soldier. But Morpheus is the one who creates, directs, and launches him.

Well done.

So basically the machines created a program that understood the humans so well it actually empathized with them, and due to that empathy it was able to craft a path towards peace rather than keep the party line of maintaining eternal war.

Perfectly stated :ehh:

Yes Morpheus is just as important as Neo or Smith

And Smith? Break down his name.
He represents corruption in humanity or white people. His name is regular and the system created him like it created white people to corrupt the world and blind the original melanin people from Zion who haven't opened their eyes or pineal gland like Neo.

Smith infiltrating the people represents the secret society that sacrifices our bodies and uses our organs.

How’d I miss this? Took a whole philosophy class on the matrix in high school. Haven’t read through every post so my bad if this repeats some stuff:

Neo, or one, is the one but obviously not the only one. But while the other “ones” cooperated with the programming of the matrix and rebooted the system, he decided to buck that. Even his name, Thomas A, is a reference to Thomas Aquinas, the man who said religion and science don’t contradict each other but are one in the same. He believed in synthesizing the spiritual world with the scientific world. Neo, by choosing love, wanted to do the same. Which is why he “merges” with the machines in the end to ultimately save the world. He’s the Jesus story but with a lot of other stories mixed in.

Smith is a virus that any computer program gets. Starts as conformity but becomes corrupt and hurts everything in its path. Also the fallen angel. He’s the closest thing to Lucifer in that story and it fits.

Morpheus is John the Baptist. The guy who told everyone and their moms the messiah would come.

The dopest ideas in the matrix tho come from Decartes belief that reality is in our mind. Our mind makes all around us real and if we were to stop believing, then it wouldn’t be a thing anymore. Which is why dreams and reality are so connected, in his mind, because your mind creates the dream therefore why isn’t it just as real as the building you walk into when you’re conscious?

Yea but these is more to the story than just that. In all actuality he's not even the hero.
Yeah he is. Neo is Jesus.
They try to tie in some Hindu themes but the main one is the story of Christ mixed around. I thought the story was deep when I was younger and tried to find all the hidden meanings. But it is not that deep once you really look at it.

He is not. The Oracle is the hero. Neo is propped up as the hero but he is actually a tool like Smith.

What do you define as a hero?

You don't think Christ sacrifice was heroic?

The Oracle is the one who went into exile in order to help save the humans via the kindness of her own "heart". She literally hid for God knows how long and she literally manipulated Neo into making every decision he made. Neo would have died in any scenario.

So you believe neo had no choice? He didn't have save trinity. He didn't have to hold the matrix hostage and he didn't have to go to machine headquarters and upload himself. He sacrificed his love and his life to save everyone. What sacrifice did the Oracle make? She may have been the manipulator but without neo there would have been no action.

Nah. Neo COULD be a tool. That’s the one’s purpose. But when he decided not to walk through that door, he charted his own path. He sacrificed himself to save everyone else. He could’ve chosen to walk through that door and reset the matrix just like the “one’s” before him.

The oracle knew what was coming when it came to losing her life. Also knew she’d be back because she had faith in neo.
