Anymore opinions on this? I'm interested in hearing additional experiences from people who attended at non-traditional, "for-profit" institution.
It depends on the college you go to and your career direction.
If you career aspirations are on Wall Street, some schools are better suited for getting in on the ground floor. Don't want to burst anyone's dreams but a 2.5 at Harvard University holds more clout than a 4.0 at a West Bubbafluck College of Agriculture and Technology when it comes to getting a job on Wall Street. If your career aspirations are in agriculture research, then your 4.0 at a lesser known school may hold more clout than a 2.5 from Harvard.
If your degree is from a well-known school, but is not in a major that school is known for, then you gotta work hard to make it happen. Example, you go to a university known for engineering but your degree is in fartology, well, you need to prepare your resume for insurance sales or assistant manager at 7-Eleven. :snoop:

Most of it comes down to what you study.

Trades at for profits generally do better than degrees.

I know the director of payroll at a fortune 500 I used to work for was studying for her master's at university of Phoenix.:yeshrug:

Didn't seem like best option to me, but she was too busy for brick and mortar and she was sharp as a knife so....

Uhhh, still nothing wrong with Capitalism you genocidal commies.

Minarchist = protecting citizens from fraud

"For Profit" schools that sell worthless degrees = fraud

I know this logic is hard for you marxists to follow but try to keep up

But jokes aside, I have a friend who's doing ok as an IT with a degree from ITT Tech. I only know ONE person who's graduated from University of Phoenix and is doing well. Then again, she isn't a slouch.

Let's clarify the difference between profit and nonprofit...

Nonprofit have to reinvest revenue back into school and research. For-profits have shareholders and pay dividends to investors. Now that is cleared up...

Now, my take is whoever enroll in them schools deserves to be fukked. I graduated debt-free from a state college with an AA and got a BA from the local state university in Miami. *Easy google search. lol.

For-profits prey on uninformed and that is the American way. It is too much competition as is so I take any advantage given. I am about to start an MBA program at a nonprofit university. Obama just played golf there. *google search that.

Good luck to whoever because I need some of my own.
