:dead: y'all cold as hell

I know a b*tch who's getting her nursing degree online. I ain't never goin' to the hospital that hires her :heh:

All jokes aside, IMO, all schools are for profit schools. I think what the OP meant to say was about schools that are not recognized as 4 year institutions. Phoenix University is a good alternative to being a Windows software tech, but not a lawyer, ya dig? If you want a real profession, go to real school, point blank

Schools that don't receive money from the Goverment = For profit.

No money in the Education budget = for profit

Who would consider even calling that school up. The damn editing in commercial is horrible.

:heh:

I literally googled for-profit and this was the first thing I see.

Enrollment at for-profit schools and universities soared during the recession as job-seekers tried to beef up their skills, but have dropped in recent years. That is due in part to new regulations that forced many schools to tighten enrollment standards [or risk losing access to federal financial aid that makes up much of for-profit education company's revenue. These companies have also struggled with increasing criticism of their programs and an extended tough economy that have hampered student's willingness or ability to enroll.

Strayer said it will increase tuition at Strayer University by 3 percent, :dead:

nope, working as an avionics technician, doing electronics repair/refurbishing for a company that was voted as one of the Forbes top 100 small companies.

 Where do you work

Fortune 100 financial services firm. Getting a for-profit degree from ITT or UofP may pass HR wherever you work, but these guys would be barely qualified to be janitors at my company or other top finance firms.

Different industry. I wouldn't recommend a person go to ITT or uop for a business or accounting degree, but for technical work or IT, they can be good options.

I'm talking about the IT folks who work for my company. Banks and other financial services firms have tons of people who work in IT, moreso than front office people like me. Regardless, we fill a lot of the back office with Ivy grads or MIT folks too, same as front office. I'd be shocked if I could even find a handful of for-profit people in the back office.

Again, different industry. What I do is highly technical hands on work. Schools like ITT and devry are respected in these types of industries, because the curriculum concentrates on hands on work. I turned down an internship to go work for Home, Schlumberger cause I didn't want to relocate to New Orleans. These internships were offered exclusively to ITT students.

I'm just saying depending on the industry and the course you take, a for profit school can be a good option. I have a job and I'm doing well, there are plenty of people out there with prestigious business degrees working at mcdonalds:manny:

But jokes aside, I have a friend who's doing ok as an IT with a degree from ITT Tech. I only know ONE person who's graduated from University of Phoenix and is doing well. Then again, she isn't a slouch.
