Where to begin

Tribalism in the US, broken politics, broken people, everyone shouting at each other, everyone mad at each other, babies being ripped away from parents on tv, babies being shot at schools, racism is legal, sexism and racism get you in the White House, and our actual discourse is in the toilet.

Even something like Star Wars and Star Trek, which are supposed to bring joy to people, have caused strife. Cast members being bullied on social media because of their gender or skin color, fans becoming entitled pricks. The world from a social standpoint and cultural standpoint is in disarray. People want an escape from that shyt

What do you think is the most blame for a majority of these problems ????? I cant quite put my finger on it myself.

Trump is the obvious answer but also too easy. It's deeper than him. He's a symptom of the problem not the root cause. shyt has been festering for years

And your point is? Not like I came in here saying that I'm a hardcore theater hopping muhfukka. Doesn't negate my point regardless. Also, I seen Black Panther more times alone to equate to a "hardcore" movie goer anyway.

And what would the point of that quote even be anyways? No one's saying that every blockbuster movie is special either. Like anything else, some are, some not. Watch what you want to watch and ignore the rest. Unless you're somehow, someway getting forced to watch all these blockbuster movies then the complaint is moot.
I'm saying you typed paragraphs just to say you only see 6 films a year :goldblum:

Casual moviegoers tend to only see the blockbusters.

Cinephiles tend to see a bit of everything.

And no i don't have to thats true but i used to want to just to keep up with pop culture and the geek conversation.

No I'm wanting to stay away.

Even on TV. I probably won't watch Luke Cage. The marvel netflix shows are too long and have gotten progressively worse each time out.

Maybe I'm aging out of all this shyt like I am with most rap music

Like someone had eluded to earlier, every movie is touted as an epic so there's an illusion of a true blockbuster. I see maybe less than half of all blockbusters in the theaters. I didn't see last Jedi and Jumanji or JL and Wonder Woman because idgaf.

But I have seen BP of course, IW,DP2, Incredibles and maybe JW. Sicario 2 is a fo sho tho.

I’ve definitely gotten blockbuster fatigue.I used to love seeing the big summer movies now with one every week it’s kind of overwhelming, I feel like there’s also such a rush to get them out the quality is starting to fall.

I feel this, but honestly the only films fit for a theater experience to me were always blockbusters. A clockwork Orange or The Shinning films like that are not the films to watch in a recliner chair in a room full of people to me. Even when I was a kid the movie theater always felt like a juvenile setting for fun above all else to me.

Right now the streaming services are throwing bags at people at a crazy rate so in a few years we will see if it's the studios, the audiences or if American creativity has just collectively fallen the fukk off.

i know one thing the rock is the biggeat waste of talent out. All that and hes still doing b movies like that skyscraper crap thats gonna flop HARD when it comes out. I dont see why he cant just get a good franchise and keep it moving.
