Weren't Dawn of the planet of the apes and Inside Out your #1s a few years ago?
It may not seem like it but pretty much all pixar/disney movies are event films.OK, almost never.
...but Inside Out isn't a damn blockbuster lol
No offense breh but if you only go 6 times a year you're a casual moviegoer.
I've seen 6 movies since the end of April. And there's users on here that go way more than I do.
I think Scott Mendelson at Forbes put it best. When every movie is special. No movie is special
Find an arthouse theater and stop crying.
Time to move abroad then.This. It's like those stores that always advertise they're having a BIG sale. After awhile you roll your eyes and go yeah yeah, another big sale. Then you stop even noticing the signs at all because their big sale is just a regular event, so it's not even considered a sale at all.
The problem is that the arthouse theaters are disappearing because of the blockbuster mentality in Hollywood right now. I have no arthouse theaters in my area at all and I think this new trend of it's gotta be a blockbuster or bust is partially to blame.
Yeah if only it were that easyTime to move abroad then.
There are three movie theaters playing a varying amount of arthouse flicks here in Rotterdam alone. A flick has to be utter ghost status to not get play within a 5 km radius from where I live.
Yeah he should’ve Thanos’d your ass for that. I would’ve
Nothing pisses me off more than people who aren’t writers talking about proofing or anything like that. And that ain’t personal it’s just been a pet peeve of mine since the uproxx days. And of course because the world has no chill anymore and nikkas think they can use social media to just say anything they want, it comes off as disrespectful and extra.
not to you personally, but it's disrespectful when we're invested in what you have to say and you can't even give us that right
This. I shouldn't have to drive half an hour to see smaller movies.This. It's like those stores that always advertise they're having a BIG sale. After awhile you roll your eyes and go yeah yeah, another big sale. Then you stop even noticing the signs at all because their big sale is just a regular event, so it's not even considered a sale at all.

The right to come at someone for what they write?
Right as in correctly. You can't even give us that correctly
If you're a writer you should assume someone is gonna read it. People who like to read like to read things that are written correctly
All of this.Honestly I dunno if it's the films I'm tired of or is it the fanbases/culture that surrounds them. I'm sick of all the whining, complaining, stanwars, gatekeeping that folks love to do when it comes to these films. For example, the whole Last Jedi shenanigans that is still going on after several months is absolutely ridiculous.
I wish we could get more original titles. Films/properties that are fresh and don't have built in fanbases. Everybody goes in blind, and there's no bickering about what they did to the story, or so and so was miscast for this part, they got the character wrong.etc
Yeah you have editors and proofreaders and sometimes things slip through the cracks. But there’s a way point that out without being an a$$hole.
That’s my issue. You can criticize constructively and not be a troll or jerk
oh absolutely. some people look for things to be right about just so they can get on a high horse about it. shyt they don't even care about half the time
