I use FL Studio (Personal preference.)

There are plenty of other programs. Reason, Logic, Abelton, etc.

I was tryna do that, but i thought that if u went to a label r watever with full songs, they would want the actual ARTIST, not the producer

They're not gonna care about the artist unless that artist is already bringing in revenue that can be tracked and in the upper $50k+ because artists are brands and instead of signing an artist with no prior success they'd rather buy your song and put it on an established artist or signed artist with momentum because its less work...

Your artist could have a song that is a smash but they're not gonna spend time, money & resources for the next 6 to 9 months trying to blow the song up when they can just place it on an artist that's already established "visibility" because the name alone will draw people to the song...

You do have your occasional artist that blows but they all had teams and REAL MONEY behind them. It's *IMPOSSIBLE* to successfully work a record without upwards of $50,000+ because you're competing with much longer money. The only time this doesn't work is with freak of nature novelty YouTube songs like "Friday" by Rebecca Black or "Harlem Shake"...

So unless you're trying to make a novelty record it's next to impossible for a song to blow up without a strong relationship with someone who either has powerful resources or long money...

dont quit your day job.

truality cat is right somewhat. but lets not take away the fact that software based producers are changing the game. thats why hardware companies are scrambling trying to find a way to bridge the gap and even going as far as to release vsts of their past synths, korg for example...

yea i guess i got kinda confused

I was thinkin that "if i get my own artist what would stop the label from just kiccin me out and gettin they own superstar producers to help them instead"

Cuz you're gonna be a lot cheaper. Plus if they believe you have real talent & it's more then just one song they like from you they'll put u in the studio with someone who will "polish" you. Look at Alex Da Kid... had great melodies but once he started working with Mike Caren he was molded into a great producer... same thing with Benny Blanco/Dr Luke or Timbaland/Danja... you'll see every dope producer was molded under someone else...

in the music industry nobody gets a fukk about beats... make beats, find a dope songwriter & collab, shop FULL RECORDS to publishing companies like Notting Hill, Sony ATV, UMPG, etc & sign a publishing deal & those usually range from $35,000 5 year 3 commitment options to $250,000 5 year, 5-10 commitment options, etc...

if you're serious don't fall into the category of dudes who sell rap beats in bulk for $.99 on Soundclick... there's waaaaaaaay more money in production, fukk beats...
So sign a slave deal to a major? :childplease: fukk tha middle man

Them beets are horrible

Ur sound selection is even worse

lol

and yes I dont have your versatility cuz u make soundalike beats

im not a copycat beatmaker

im a real producer

I have my own sound

also yes software is in demand becuz electronic musicians have become lazy and sacrifuce sound quality over faster workflow

the truth is in the music

go listen

I know personally 10-15 producers most people have never even heard of that are ***PAID*** all from Major Deals putting in less work with 10x the money most indie people make. People scream indie indie indie fukk the majors all the time but outside of like 5 rappers with ZERO major ties the rest of them nikkas struggling whether they'll ever admit it or not. A Major Deal is what you make it... u put in the work, you'll reap the rewards... I know too many cats that were anti-major & made some money indie for a while but still struggled & all of them regret not partnering up with a major at some because underground fans are just as fickle as mainstream fans with less money... Techn9ne is a freak of nature story... there's hardly anyone replicating that kind of success without a drug dealer behind them...and trust me breh, that life ain't what you want... :sadbron:
