I don't believe you. You're FAR too invested in defending hardware and shytting on software. (unless you used Fruity loops, got sold the "fruity loops beats suck" hype within 2 weeks, gave up and switched).

And what exactly is the "truth"? That you can make a beat that sounds better than mine?

If I've made beats on fruity loops that sound like Timbaland, Kanye West, Lil Jon, Shawty Red... If I know its possible to make beats on the same level of guys who've already gotten rich, what the fukk is the "truth" ?

You're upset you fell in the wrong lane. Nothing wrong with that, it works for you, run with it.

Wtf u dound mad

I used fl for the first 2 years of beatmaking

moved to an mpc and it was a wrap

hardware is way better and its the right way

software doesnt sound as good and its corny wannabee shyt imo

Like I sa8d u can compare it to bbq on a gas grill or charcoal grill

Make sure you're in the studio with the rapper just incase another producer comes in and changes and adds stuff to your beat like just blaze did to a few people :skip:

@Truality

Why don't both of you nikkas post up one or two of your favorite beats you can prove you produced and let The Coli decide if there's a difference between FL / Hardware production, and see who's better? :ohhh: Otherwise what both of you nikkas is doin is just girlin back & forth, fukk that shyt. :camby:

Unless you nikkas scared :umad:

i know few nikkas getting $$$$$ great off beats

word? elaborate...how much, enough to not work a 9-5? what genre?

i've been considering putting my hand to beats for a few years now. i think i've got a great ear for music, lyrics too. a lot of the time when i hear music i sometimes think what could have made it sound better, like the drums should have come in sooner, or the breakdown wasn't powerful enough, or she didn't go high enough etc (this is only with rnb music btw)

same with lyrics, especially when i hear most of the sh1t that comes out nowadays, pre-school lyrics, same rhyming schemes that have been around for years

maybe i might look into this a bit more

maybe in 2003 you could have said hardware > software.

around the mid to late 2000s it's pretty clear software caught up to hardware as far as potential. What people need to realize is that if you're using a MPC, you're basically using a computer that triggers loaded sounds (samething as software).

at this point, there is NOTHING you can do on an MPC you can't do with a computer+Pad Controller+VSTs.+software (and the latter will cost you way less total AND is more convenient like dude said)

passed that, it's all about your skills.

I'm not experienced in DJing so i can't really say much on that aspect. The DJ friends i have tell me as far as convenience, the emulators is better but since you're using MP3s sound quality is not the same (their words, not mine). they also told me it depends on where you play and the sound system, quality of mp3s, etc. They said most times the difference in quality is negligeable in the big scheme of things but i would guess it makes a difference if you're producing a beat vs if you're playing for a crowd. They also told me Traktor > Serato as far as potential but that the standard is Serato. But purists still prefer the old school way.

-Also i remember reading Premier switched to Serato for shows.
-everything i said on DJing was told to me maybe 3-4 years ago. Emulators may have gotten even better since then.

in the music industry nobody gets a fukk about beats... make beats, find a dope songwriter & collab, shop FULL RECORDS to publishing companies like Notting Hill, Sony ATV, UMPG, etc & sign a publishing deal & those usually range from $35,000 5 year 3 commitment options to $250,000 5 year, 5-10 commitment options, etc...

if you're serious don't fall into the category of dudes who sell rap beats in bulk for $.99 on Soundclick... there's waaaaaaaay more money in production, fukk beats...
I was tryna do that, but i thought that if u went to a label r watever with full songs, they would want the actual ARTIST, not the producer
