Oakland can be depressing, but that's mostly in EAST OAKLAND. The city has a lot more to offer, you just have to branch out. Bay Area is beautiful

Oakland is one of the WORST cities in America. 131 murders in 2012 and its not that bad? buggin bro. The only reason why West Oakland is better off than East Oakland is because they lockin up a ton of niccas (MAC from Acorn got 48 years), and white folks who cannot afford to live in SF are moving into West Oakland and gentrifying the area, so there is more of a PD presence. It has a history of violence, especially homicides, and it's not getting any better. East Oakland is a SLUM that's on it's way to hell. It is depressed, on par with Camden, Detroit, Cleveland, if not worse. That's why it is usually ranked either ahead or behind them yearly in the FBI reports. If a nicca tellin me East Side O isn't depressing or a SLUM, you kiddin yourself. SF has its share of problems, but it is a WORLD CLASS CITY.

It's close, if not number one. Top 3. I don't see how people can raise their fam there. Piedmont, rock ridge, Montclair I can do because the white folks take care of their area. Most of them niccas and Mexicans have Oakland in ruins.

poverty n crime will probably never go away, itll just change locations. if oakland ever improves, sadly, it'll be thru gentrification and white movement into the city. the poor mexican n black minorities will b pushed out, and their problems will jus migrate to another area.
