Any info on Charleston, SC

These are 3 very different types of cities tho. Get cacs out your head you can't get away from them in SC, however they know their place for the most part and you won't have any issues with the vast majority...even the backwood Confederate flag ones. I been living in SC for 20+ years.

Greenville - up and coming, more hipster out of all of them. Think of it as a giant ass suburb.
Charleston - old money cacs, with old school ways and feel. The brethren here are salt of the Earth folk.
Columbia - hottest of them all and half the city got hit hard by the recession and hasn't fully recovered. I personally never like the place, but it has its appeal.

Greenville is cool if you are a Cac who is into all of the "hipster" stuff that was popular 8 years ago. Asheville is a better spot if you are going for that. At least dudes are real there. You'll see a lot of blacks capeing for the college, that most of them haven't been too, with all the confederate generals names on every building but as long as the football team is good they will gloss over that. I'm not saying blacks in Greenville are c00ns, but yeah.

Columbia has Fort Jackson and a lot of transplants so you can find a more diverse crowd of people.

It's only 100 degrees a couple days a year... not much different from NY. And the difference is down here we have cars and A/C in even the cheapest apartments. Much better than a window unit in a 100 year old building + waiting for the subway.

Crime and racism are everywhere, word to the NYPD.

Unemployment is similar in the north/south:

Me and wifey came down with no jobs... she got a job paying 2x what she made up north in 4 months, I got one making a little more than I did up north in a year. For retail and shyt you could probably get a job the day you arrive if you are in a good area.

My favorite southern city. Arguable one of the best food scenes in the country and filled with rich culture!!
