Ran to the beach and back today about 3.5 to 4 miles. Waves was pumping today.
How is running hard on joints? I hear people use this as an excuse for not running. I think it’s mentalShout-out to y'all runners. I hate it. Tried it a few times, was jogging 5 miles at one point but I just hated it.
I prefer hiking and rucking (walking with a heavy backpack). Nearly as intense as jogging, but easier on the joints.
60 miles this month is the goal

I feel like it keeps your legs/knees/ankle healthy. It will take a toll on your feet with the wrong shoes
Hiking and rucking seem to be worse
It's not an excuse. It's basic physics.
"Running produces ground reaction forces that are approximately 2.5 times body weight, while the ground reaction force during walking is in the range of 1.2 times body weight."
And low impact exercise also keeps the legs/knees/ankles healthy.
But that's not why I don't do it. I have an irrational dislike for it.
Thats awesome breh. I have to get back out on the trails again. Been running on the treadmill latelyHad a great trail run yesterday.
Glad I finally got a pair of Altras . Shoe last matched my foot perfectly and the nature views were stunning. From the rainbow to the Sunset
You should get it checked out, if you haven't alreadyHad to take 2 days off after health scare. I ran for 4 miles at pretty high pace. My heart rate stayed high for several hours after and I was having cold chills and fever like symptoms. Anybody ever had this?
Start training at least 6 months before. Lift weights - single leg repeats. Do speed work. So long slow runs 80% of the time. Get a lot of rest. Work on your nutrition and hydration strategy well in advance. Wear good shoes.Any marathon runners in here? Looking to train for one early December. Looking for some pointers for a first time runner.
