I don't know how much Chapek had to do with these middling films. He wasn't like Perlmutter interfering with Feige and the MCU productions.

Wrong.

A change will definitely come though.

His chain of command, in particular Kareem Daniel was interfering with a drive to create new content. One strategic reason for this was Disney+ and the desire to create content for that.

Daniel was removed as soon as Chapek was gone.

"Disney Dismisses Chapek Deputy Kareem Daniel As Bob Iger Puts “Decision-Making Back In The Hands Of Our Creative Teams

By JAMIE LANG | 11/22/2022 7:00 am | 2

Kareem Daniel, chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution under Bob Chapek, has left the company
just one day after Disney parted ways with its now-former CEO."

Word on the street was that even Feige (and upwards) were against the Chapek/Daniel strategy.

@winb83 see above. the creatives were not making the decisions as they were under Iger.

we've been told for 15 years that they leave Feige alone and he has complete control. Now they want a fall guy cause of a few Ls? Yeah.. nah.. stop. Lol.

Regardless.. i still have hope for the movie.
Who said that? Chapek and Co. micromanaging not just Feige, but Kennedy (LucasFilms) and Docter (Pixar) in creative is well-documented at this point. That's part of the reason why the majority of folks were pleased at the news of him exiting.

I don't even watch Rotten Tomatoes scoring or believe in it as a metric of how good a movie is, but 58%??

Seems like this movie's legacy will be "the one were the ´real' Kang showed up" and people will forget everything else
nah bro... whether the movies are good or bad.. they start and end with Feige
All the movies after Endgame have clearly shown otherwise.

People underrate how important the Russo brother's were to the MCU. Even though other creators did their thing too (BP, GOTG, Thor Ragnarok) it was them who lead Phase 3, which was the one that made Marvel go into a whole nother level when it come to pop culture and, sadly, the film industry.

The MCU needs to find film makers than can elevate the material and give Feige's plans a better execution :hubie:

So at this point they need to put aside their cac egos and write Kang in a compelling way because otherwise their future film plans aren't going to work.
