Lamar is a choker and I put that loss on him more than Andrews. But it’s shyt like that makes me kind’ve understand why some go so hard defending him.

Footballs not that serious to bring out the racism or victimhood in you
:stopitslime: Andrews dropped a 15 yard pass the play before the fumble, dropped a pass on 3rd down at the Buffalo 21 which was beyond the sticks that he could’ve definitely gotten another 3-5 yards on which forced them to settle for a field goal, fumbled by trying to juke 2 defenders he’d already beat when he’d have gotten an extra 5-7 yards easy by just cutting upfield and gave Buffalo an extra 3 points while also costing his team an extra 5:12 on the clock and 2 timeouts when a touchdown even before the PAT would’ve given them the lead and they were on the edge of field goal range, and then dropped the game tying 2 point conversion when he was wide open. He did all that on just 8 passes thrown his way. 4 catastrophically bad plays on 8 targets that swung at least 5 points against his team in a game they lost by 2 including the wide open drop that ended the season. This might’ve been the worst game a skill position player has ever had in the postseason all context considered.

It’s also worth noting that the ravens scored on every drive of the second half except the one where Andrews coughed up the ball.

Brandon Stokely juggling a pass into Corey graham’s hands for a pick 6 in the 2012 divisional round

Asante Samuel dropping a pick on the giants winning drive in Super Bowl 42

Robert Griffith dropping the winning pick in the 1998 nfc title game

Alford dropping the winning pick for Atlanta in Super Bowl 51

Lee Evans dropping the winning touchdown in the 2011 afc title game

Jackie smith dropping a touchdown for Dallas in Super Bowl 13 and Dallas losing by 4

Zay Flowers fumbling at the 1 yard line in the 2023 afc title game

Joey Porter dropping a pick 6 in the 2001 afc title game

Dallas Clark and Anthony Gonzalez dropping passes on 3rd and 4th down beyond the sticks for the colts in 2007 vs the chargers

Az Hakim muffing a punt return down 3 & out of timeouts with 2 minutes left for the rams in 2000

Drew Bennett dropping a pass at the New England 15 down 3 in the 2003 divisional round on 4th down

TJ Houshmanzadeh dropping the ball on 4th & 18 in 2010

It’s a near annual thing.

The top one still makes me sad :mjcry:. Moss, Randle, and Green all could’ve gotten their ring & Billick would’ve left the sport a 2 time champion with the highest scoring offense & greatest scoring defense featuring him on the staff.

The middle one happening was one of the worst things to ever happen in the nfl :hhh:. Pittsburgh pitching a shutout for an entire postseason en route to a title would’ve been less disgraceful than that :snoop:

The bottom one still makes me mad :scusthov:. Those guys got me into football and we could’ve seen the greatest defense ever face arguably the greatest offense ever in Super Bowl 35 :snoop:

When you’re the best player in the league and the leader of your team, you can’t have those 2 turnovers. You just can’t. Had the Ravens chasing the game instead of being in control. Andrew’s fukked up no question but Lamar is going down as an all time great. You get judged differently.

And Lamar Jackson had a fumble returned for a touchdown didn’t he? Miss me with all that extra shyt you’re doing. QB’s get the majority of the credit when their team succeeds so Lamar’s gotta hold this L. Especially since he’s most likely gonna be a 3 time MVP

Peyton had a lot of playoff exits that resemble the bad luck that follows Lamar too :francis: . Bad drops, a defense not getting takeaways or stops at all, bad game plans.
Only bad luck was vs Miami. His defense shyt the bed, that game..
Manning was awful vs Tennesse, awful vs the Jets, awful vs the Patriots in 03/04, and played avg vs the Steelers. They overturned an obvious int to Polamalu, which allowed them to get back in the game.

Ehh - it was a pass behind him and Andrews was moving away from the ball. Not a layup but Andrews is paid $11 mil a year, he's gotta pull that in

If you're gonna use the money angle, well rebutting it is as simple as echoing what Simms said in the video: "Lamar makes $55,000,000 (five times what Andrews makes) and that ball has to be properly placed directly in front of his receiver's upfield shoulder." We don't call football "The ultimate team sport" for nothing. (And for the record, I'm not absolving Andrews, at all, but the "Lamar did no wrong" narrative is disgustingly insulting)

No different than people saying it was moreso Brady's fault for having Welker contort his body for that non-catch in the 2007 Super Bowl on their penultimate or final drive (can't recall which one it was right now). Welker should have caught it, but Brady's throw made the catch harder than it needed to be. In the moments of ambiguous blaming, the one higher on the totem pole will always get more scrutinized. It may not be fair but life itself isn't fair, period.

It's ok to point out the faults where it's justified. Lamar will be judged like all other high profile, MVP QBs were and will continue to be. He's a big boy. He'll be fine.

It really is. Passer rating doesnt detail situations and doesnt penalize for sacks. Hence, one of the biggest plays of the game being the 6 yard loss on a sack, that turned 2nd and goal from the 2 to 3rd and goal from the 8..
And more importantly....

The FUMBLE!

THAT LED TO A TOUCHDOWN

but these Lamar defenders just filter out and ignore a crucial play like that and focus on passer rating.

That's so fukking strange my guy. I just don't get how you justify bringing up passing rating.

Like, did you not watch the game?

And somehow that first 2-PT conversion has been wiped from the internet, I just wanna see how open it was :skip:

No he didn’t. The defender got stopped at the 24 and the defense couldn’t even hold them to a field goal. Buffalo had 3 touchdowns on 4 drives in the first half and went 3/3 in the red zone.

He had a lot of drops vs Tennessee (I think more drops than any group of receivers had in any game that year). Beyond that all I can remember is their defense getting shredded on the ground. He was bad vs the pats but one of those games his defense gave up I think over 200 rushing yards. The list of teams who win while giving up that much on the ground is a short one. He was definitely bad against the jets but 5:17 into the game it was 17-0 jets without him doing anything wrong and his defense gave up 35 points without getting any turnovers or sacks on the day while the colts also fumbled a kickoff return. He’d have had to be perfect for the colts to even have a chance. Yeah the Troy pick shouldn’t have been overturned but even after that they had chances to win only for Nick Harper and Mike Vanderjagdt to blow it in the final minutes. Are we stopping at just his playoff losses before the first Super Bowl? There was a lot of bad luck/his teammates blowing it after 2006 as well.
