But this is what is done in soccer which is literally the largest sport in the world. It’s not some crazy thing @MasterThought and @T-K-G are saying. Granted, women soccer players seem to only be supported in international tournaments.
I'm aware, however in international sports, it's not just done for soccer, it's all sports

FC Barcelona has a basketball team, soccer team, rugby team, womens soccer team, etc

The branding is a lot different

We can't do that here, and gender equality is looked at different here as well

I am an avid watcher of both leagues. This is simply not true. The WNBA has girls who aren't in the league that should be starters at a pro level. It's way more talent in the WNBA than the NBA on a expectation level. The W just lacks too many teams. Only 12 so everyone got a stud. Every got starters off the bench. The WNBA needs expansion and BAD
There are 2.5 good teams. The Aces bench is better than the bottom half of the leagues starters

Taurasi is right in this case tho :yeshrug:

I mean, right now Caitlyn is out there balling on folks who are just clearly below her level. She has skills that will absolutely translate to the next level but I imagine the physicality of the WNBA plus what I assume will be more elite defenders and defensive game plans is going to be an adjustment period for her
Of course there's a learning curve and adjustment to the next level. That goes without saying. DT's comments came from a hater's standpoint. At some point you have to advance the women's game and be an ambassador. Shaq and Barkley can hate and scream on the youngsters all day on TNT, but at the end of the day Shaq and Barkley make millions, the league itself is shown in over 200 countries and makes billions per year, and their players make millions upon millions every season. The foundation and backbone isn't there yet for women's basketball and the WNBA to have this disdain for the up and coming players of the game.

This is somewhat true. The Liberty for example has Marine Johanes and Han Xu, who are both starters on their respective national teams but come off the bench in the WNBA. Liz Cambage is tied with Aja Wilson for the most points scored in a game and she's currently playing for a league in Australia. But then you have the Mercury, Sky, Sparks, Storm etc. who only have one or two good players out a roster of 12.

She has an ego problem and said she doesn't want to play in the WNBA anymore. After she got drafted by her first WNBA team, she said publicly that she didn't want to play for them then decided not to show up the next season because she was tired from the Olympics. She left the WNBA for 5 years after to play overseas, she came back then broke the scoring record then asked to be traded after they lost in the playoffs. After a season with the Aces, she didn't want to play because of Covid so she sat out and eventually left the team. Then at the start of the 2022 season, she signed a contract with the Sparks then left the team after a month :mjlol:. After she announced that she was done with the WNBA.

Oh yeah, she was calling the Nigerian national team "Monkeys" and beating them up during training camp

So yeah...

sounds like a massive head case, the type to take the net and ball after the game is over because she didnt get a foul call
