Does anyone even want an Outkast album? It's been 25 years.
*Raises hand

Last time Dre was rapping his pen sounded sharper than ever. And Big Boi never stopped rapping. I don't think it'd be anything like the Snoop and Dre joint.

Without Rico Wade? Na it wouldn’t be the same. Dre after Speakerboxx he started seeing the industry for what it was and didn’t want the fame or tour money. He would pop out do features every now and then but there time has passed. Crazy thing is they could be like The Rolling Stones and tour off their catalog. Big Boi would be with it Dre wouldn’t. So you just gotta appreciate what they brought to the game and leave it at that.

Big Boi held his own on all their albums until Andre got on all that weirdo shyt. Even Big Boi solo music was good. Here’s what I think happened. I think they sold a lot of records Dre got into acting and saw he didn’t want it. He probably didn’t want to compromise his integrity for the money. Big Boi kept grindin Andre fell out of the limelight. Andre didn’t even want to tour. He clearly didn’t want the fame.
I think it's that some nikkas really don't like the fame and stardom. I think 3K was just a really creative guy that loved making music as an expression of creativity but he dind't want the fame or to be in teh spotlight like that. I think he's a shy dude on top of it. It actually reminds me of that Kendrick line to Drake about how only he likes being famous. With acting he can still throw himself into roles and then pop out to do a few interviews but doesn't have to be out in front of a lot of people like you have to do when touring.

If you haven't been practicing rapping/writing for a long time, it's very daunting to start again.

What if you can't find that spark agai? If both of them haven't written then that's even worse.

Plus,, the sound of music has changed. Gotta rap on different style of beats now. What if they're just not inspired to rhyme over the new style?

Time to let it go. It won't be a good as the TLB anyway. This is Miseducation of Lauryn Hill status. Just enjoy the classic.

One thing not mentioned is Andre was never the same after Badu. It’s no telling what she opened his eyes to in regards to the industry.

You young bucks had to be there indeed. Glad I got to see Outkast in '95 live. Also saw Them walking the streets with the people during Freaknic and Dre performing Cell Therapy with Goodie mob before Soul Food dropped... plus had a 30 minute one on one convo with him outside of the bar Dotties on Memorial because he "Dated" my cousin at Tri-Cities. What a time to be alive. :wow:

I was a junior in HS when Players Ball dropped, me and my boys working at the local grocer rapping them lyrics like we wrote them. Between 'Kast and Goodie Mob, and everything else that was out during that time, rap kept our music plate full over and over again. What an era.

Rico Wade and the Dungeon family was instrumental in their success. It’s hard to recreate feelings and music. One thing Jay always does is jump on whoever is hot and get a feature. One of the first time I seen him do it was on Juvenile Ha song. I think he does it to keep himself out there but to absorb the new energy. OutKast ain’t really been in the game in a minute.

If he don't want it neither do I. Who's asking for it at this point.

You can look at this new Dre and Snoop album and it's clear that it's better to let things be.

Andre gets it.
