We only want a solo 3k tbh...Don't really want to hear him hard carry big boi again from a musical standpoint
Big Boi held his own on all their albums until Andre got on all that weirdo shyt. Even Big Boi solo music was good. Here’s what I think happened. I think they sold a lot of records Dre got into acting and saw he didn’t want it. He probably didn’t want to compromise his integrity for the money. Big Boi kept grindin Andre fell out of the limelight. Andre didn’t even want to tour. He clearly didn’t want the fame.

Big Boi was just rapping - and he was rapping well indeed - but Andre 3000 brought all these albums to life, elevated them to another level musically.

I think they complimented each other well. It comes down to Andre not being inspired and not wanting the fame. He didnt even want to tour at their height. I think he saw what the industry was and didn’t want to the big money it’s a price that comes with that.

Andre just a too cool for school contrarian hipster. As soon as people stop asking him to rap or about OutKast he’ll probably want to rap again

Article is flirting with click bait

"Honestly, I'm not a fan of looking back" says everything

What I've noticed with Dre is he always tells people exactly how he feels and nikkas are always trying to make him change his mind
"Spaceships don't come equipped with rear view mirrors"

But they don't hear him. They just wanna dance :francis:

Facts!! When's the last time a crew, or even a solo artist, came back on some "it's been a long time but I'm back!!!!!!!"

And anybody cared or thought it was on par with their earlier work?
Only one I can think of that actually delivered and exceeded expectations was D'Angelo :yeshrug:

Leave him alone. He’s happy. I never even considered him in my top 100 list of rappers. His biggest hit is a 1950 sounding pop swing teeny bopper song. He knew they got lucky with Hey Ya and will never be that high again as OutKast.

Live your life 3000.

You can at least give us a Super Bowl.

I hope there’s months of buzz about them performing at the superbowl….then they announce it’s Kendrick performing for the 3rd time in 6 years :whoo:

I know Big Boi would never say it publicly, but it’d burn me up if I was him thinking about what’s likely 100’s of millions of dollars that he missed out on because Dre was too wise and noble to tour at their peak…or cash in on their legacy act clout

You young bucks had to be there indeed. Glad I got to see Outkast in '95 live. Also saw Them walking the streets with the people during Freaknic and Dre performing Cell Therapy with Goodie mob before Soul Food dropped... plus had a 30 minute one on one convo with him outside of the bar Dotties on Memorial because he "Dated" my cousin at Tri-Cities. What a time to be alive. :wow:
