:duck:

the argument in here has been that more power makes your games look better regardless of how it was developed.

check the posts. nikkas are on some revisionist history shyt in here.

I said from the beginning that the trend in console development is to program for the lowest common denominator and PORT. why would it change now? if you have assets for the lowest common denominator...having more power isn't going to magically make those lower assets better. A .JPG is a .JPG. You can't turn a medium res one into a complicated high res one because you have more power. It's either there or it's not.

The PS4 may be able to handle the highest resolution textures and 1,000,000,000 of them at a time. But if the textures were created with the XBOX One in mind, then that technological point is moot. A PC Developer HAS TO create the highest res textures, and a few different versions of those textures to account for all of the different PC's out there. They have no choice. The vast majority of PC's are not highest texture capable.

As a dev what's my incentive to add extra code, models, textures, shaders, light sources for the PS4 version to take advantage of? Absolutely NONE. There are no incentives.

Get the game out as cheap as possible. And that's developing for the One and porting to the PS4 with no adjustments.

The End.
Son..what don't u get is they been doin this SAME shyt u sayin they not gonna do ALL GEN with the PC counterparts of console games...go check out how the devs at squenix talk about the Tomb Raider pc version...its not that difficult or hard to grasp...

The PS4's GPU contains "a unified array of 18 compute units" capable of generating 1.84 teraflops of processing power, Sony says, which can "freely be applied to graphics, simulation tasks, or some mixture of the two." The system's 8 GB of memory offers 176 GB per second of bandwidth to developers, Sony claims.

PS4 is the first system since the first xbox to use x86 architecture. Devs made ports from the ps2 to the xbox 1 very polished and pretty. I remember playing doa ultimate on xbox 1 and being impressed by the graphics and how they were able to have them look better than ps2. This gen though, its the other way.

This thread has been hilarious....got me through the last hour of work. Ayo, you gotta be trolling breh, you gotta be.

The best part is the dudes who think cloud computing for console purposes will make any noticeable differences in computational power, like its fukking VDI. Don't fall for that marketing bullshyt.

the kinect will actually detect how many people are watching content in your room. if it's more than the allowed amount, they will require you to upgrade your license. :snoop:

The programming architecture for the ps4 is superior now compared to the xbox. The system itself is superior. We have the edge across all fronts. Xbox, in its current form only exists to make games look worse than they would on the PS4. Thats not a product i can support but i guess some people feel brand loyalty, to a fault.

Nothing you say can be taken seriously, a grown man who stays stanning a gaming console so hard he creates an alterego alias called 'ps4'.

Damn Breh.

the playstation is a more powerful system. :heh: @ fools in here really trying to spin that into a bad thing or saying xbox can compete on that front. xbox's only advantage is their marketing it as an entertainment system, the ps4 is a gaming system plain and simple.

:dead: @ cloud gaming making any difference in graphics. yall will believe anything.

Well the specs don't start to matter until late in the console cycle, and by that time Internet connections should be better, so cloud performace will be better. It wil be interesting to see how things evolve.

In reality specs have NEVER mattered. The most powerful system hasnt won a generation in a long time. The systems are close enough in power and architecture that any differences in performance will be marginal, and will only matter in fanboy wars. The rest of the world won't care or even notice.

Ye i agree maybe 6 or 8 years from now we all we be rocking with fiber connection....oops i forgot we already do here in europe :myman:

Specs might not matter to you or the casual gamer, but im not casual a gamer, the ps3 brought me some beautiful looking exclusives that the xbox couldn't and that was because the ps3 had more horsepower (more dedicated devs also) so it matters to me fk if the world cares or not.

True cloud computing might be up to scratch and level the playing field down the road but i doubt it. From where im sitting the xbox just said 'screw u gamers' so i don't expect them to harness the power of cloud just to bring us beautiful looking games. oh and surely 'cloud computing' will come at a premium just like xbox live :russ:

yall seem to forget really quick... ps3 had the worst verisons of multiplat games period.

i don't know about worse, as there were no real discernible differences. just that devs were lazy with the ps3 hardware. i look at multiplat games, then look ps3 exclusives -- and you could easily tell 360 was holding multiplatform games back.

and it looks like they'll try to do it again with this gen, judging by their hardware.

Like I said only fanboys care :manny:

Oh yeah and crysis 2 on xbox was lauded as the best looking game this gen. All that extra power and money got you nothing in terms of real life performance :umad:
