Here goes Ubisoft bragging about the cost of porting to the WiiU only being 1.3 million dollars.

Wii U ports cost under $1.3 million for Ubisoft | GamesIndustry International

Now imagine if they were to put time into making the PS4's version superior. You are looking at a lot more than 1.3 million dollars. A lot of times a developer will hand over porting duties to a completely different dev house just to save time.

LMAO @ turning down the effects WOW

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
what's the last thing you developed?

"turning down effects"

LOL. nikka. This isn't the settings menu in your favorite PC game or the sliders in NBA 2K13.

:wow:

The developer will limit effects, what was so hard to understand about that?

the cpu can bottleneck the gpu and affect the framerate. that's the main reason they're changing the server architecture for the DayZ standalone

That's not quite the same though, they're simply trying to get DayZ to run like Arma does in offline mode, not significantly bump up performance overall. And frame-rate improvement is a far cry from post processing cloud computing, which is probably 10-20 years away.

Wait...you have sales numbers already? :lupe:

I'm not making giant leaps like you are. I'm using logic.

That his issue he acts like the PS4 has already won lol Im not a physic I dont know who win this gen but to act they have already won is just foolish. Only the hardcore gamers are upset right now because 1. No games was shown (that will be fixed at e3). 2. the specs are not overwhelming as they was in the past. No exotic cpu or gpu being thrown around. But MS may be onto something you have to appeal to a wide audience to be successful. The gamer, the sports nut, the movie buff etc. We may not like it but its reality. And let's not act like Sony is not going to push the same thing, they just have not announced it yet.

thousands of lines of code. down sampling millions of pieces of texture. completely different API. completely different platform and tools. hundreds of man hours.

development probably approached in completely different ways. sharing the x86 platform allows them to share some aspects of dev. but the majority no.

not point and click.

I don't even know which console I'm going to get yet. Probably whichever drops first. I'm just saying that don't expect to see a huge difference right away. It will be at least 4-5 years.

Remember PS4 is very dev friendly, simple architecture...It won't take much to get more out of it.

:mjpls:

Xbox heads gotta hope and pray devs choose not to take advantage of PS4 advantages.

Cot damn bruh, you're coming off really slow. The PS4 and 360 are both x86, the WiiU, PS3 and 360 are all different architectures, did you miss the part where I said the PS4 and 360 are essentially PCs?

Nevermind the fact that the WiiU is a new console, you're just throwing shyt at a wall and hoping it sticks.

I'm not making giant leaps like you are. I'm using logic.

Im using logic also. Look at Xbox current sales worldwide. Whos leading in Global sales, Sony.

Why was xbox able to be so successful out the gate? Because of sonys high priced system and the fact xbox had a year head start. A head start they have lost their year lead on in 2013.

Why did they lose their lead - because the majority of the planet doesnt like xbox and only used them for a place holder.

Where is xbox strongest - America, ONLY

Where is Sonys strongest - the rest of the world

Are many xbots vocalizing their switch to sony this gen - yes

Are many 3cepts vocalizing their switch to Microsoft this gen - No

Logically to me, friend, it makes sense that sony is going to keep its base and xbox is going to lose theirs, selling less systems around the world and losing a sizeable portion of their base in America which will reduce their system sales overall. No one is thirsty for their system this gen the way they were when they were the only next gen console on the market. With sony out the gate first, that early adoption will be stifled.

The features that appeal to the world outside of America are Games since the TV features are useless to people outside of the US. So why are people outside of the US going to buy an Xbox Dung for games knowing that PS4 is the more powerful system with the hottest industry tested exclusives?

PS4, this holiday season, friend :usure: Make it right.

They clearly said in the presentation that games would be able to take advantage of processing in the cloud.
I didn't watch the presentation....but even so, you can't possibly believe what Meach said right. That the hardware isn't going to matter because of the cloud? No, the hardware WILL matter. And if some things are done similar to OnLive or in some sort of hybrid way the question will remain just how much. SimCity processes things in the cloud but what is it really supplementing? Otherwise, just release a system that has the same specs as the 360 and be done.

 So, please explain to me how my under supported PC has ports running on it that were built with the PowerPC Xbox 360 in mind. Are they spending millions of dollars and hundreds of man hours just to sell around 250,000 copies?

The two systems are very similar in architecture, one is more powerful than the other, why is that so hard to accept? They will code to the lowest common denominator, and PS4 games will still look better because of sheer horsepower, what you're trying to argue flies in the face of 20+ years of game development. Games generally look better on one system, yet here you are trying to say that they won't.

They will. Just not right away. They'll wait to see how the install bases and sales numbers look. They'll wait to get good at developing on both machines. They'll wait to streamline their cross platform dev process. So at least a few years.

Cross platform games are 3x more expensive to develop than exclusives. And that's without making a superior version.

What advantage? The X1 can do everything the PS4 can do. Now Maybe the Ps4 can do it slightly faster. Remember they have the same class cpu and similar gpu's made by the same company. PS4 main advantage is more shader units which is an advantage but not as much as you are making it out to be.

The XBOX 360 was the lowest common denominator last time. And since it got the development first, it got the better looking games. The PS3's architecture was just so different that devs hardly bothered taking advantage of it.

At least this time when the XBOX One is the lowest common denominator, the PS4's architectural will at least assure that the games look just as good....

The Xbox 360 and PS3 were two entirely different architectures, while PowerPC based the 360 was much closer to a PC than the PS3 was and easier to develop for which is why the multiplat games looked better.

Yet again, these are two similar architectures, x86 + GPU, they are PCs for all intents and purposes, one is more powerful than the other. They can code to the lowest common denominator and just like PCs, the more powerful one will look better. Your entire point is that the more powerful system (PC), won't somehow have better looking games, do you realize how dumb that sounds?
